Vibrators and Chemical Reactions

I read the instructions the vibe I've had for a while (the brand is "Shane's World" by California Exotic Novelties), and they said not to put my vibe near other thigns that would cause a chemical reaction.

That made me wonder, should I be putting this thing on my clit? I don't want to poison my vag. I do like it, it's very quiet and gives me decent orgasms (although I use to finsih myself off, since the batteries wear down fast otherwise. It takes 3 watch batteries.

I figured maybe I should get a new vibrator. I though about the Hitachi, but I want something that my roomie won't hear. I heard the Hitachi is noisy. Is this true? So anyone have any recomendations for a quiet clitoral stimulator?

BTW, LJ keeps on telling me I'm not allowed to post tags. Why not? I wanted to put sex-toys and vibrators.

Tags are set so that the VP mods can manage/edit them -- the reasons for this are explained in this section (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=VaginaPagina_FAQ#What_are_.22tags.22_and_how_are_they_used_in_VP_on_LJ.3F) of our FAQ. Hope that answers your question! :)

Do you know what type of material your toy is made of? I know that most silicone toys are not supposed to be used with silicone lube because it can cause the solid silicone of the toy to break down, but silicone toys are quite safe.

I have found this handy guide (http://www.babeland.com/shoppingadvice/sextoymaterials) from the Babeland website (http://www.babeland.com) to be very helpful in deciding what type of materials I feel comfortable having near my clit and vulva.

Whether or not you decide that you want to keep using your current vibe, if you're looking for a quiet toy for clit stimulation, you might want to consider a bullet vibe (http://www.babeland.com/shoppingadvice/sextoymaterials). I have one of these and I love it! It is fairly quiet, too.

I have also heard really good things about the Layaspot (http://www.smittenkittenonline.com/Products/LayaSpot_1429.cfm). I have looked at/played with one in a store -- it seemed pretty quiet there, but sometimes things that sound quiet in a retail space can sound somewhat louder in a quiet room. I am actually going to buy one later this weekend, though, so I will soon have a better idea of how much noise they make. :)

If you're referring to the Hitachi Magic Wand, my personal recommendation is that I would advise against it. True, it's an absolute classic masturbation accessory, and it has doubtless given countless women an awful lot of memorable nights.

However, my partner and his best friend used to manage a porn and sex toy store, and they stocked the Wand (among other things). A popular way for them to pass time was by turning it on and seeing how long they could hold it before their hands went totally numb; its higher settings are extraordinarily powerful, and not necessarily in a good way, and it is both fairly loud and quite large and unwieldy compared to other vibes.

It's very noisy. I have one, but I don't have a roommate or anything I'm trying to hide it from, so it's okay.

The chemical reaction means that if you place the velvety-material toy next to jelly material toy, it actually melts together. I've seen this. It's like if you were to put them side-by-side in the microwave, thats what it looks like. It is a chemical reaction between the toys materials, NOT your body and the toys!!
