Hi all!

I just read the vulvapedia on these type of NHBC products & I'm looking for some personal experience & advice.
I am on NuvaRing but would like a back-up method. Are these even possible with NuvaRing?

If so, which type is best... and where do I get it? Costs, experience, etc. is much appreciated.

FYI: I know you should trust your HBC but every time my BF doesn't pull out I get a little nervous & would feel so much better with double protection. I am not interested in spermicide/sponge/etc because I am VERY prone to UTIs.

Adoption

I know this isn't directly vagina related, but it is related to reproduction so here goes, hope it is ok to post here.

I'm interested in adopting someday (not in the near future but still) and I was wondering if anyone knew of informative materials : books, websites, forums, etc that might help. There is a ton of information out there and I figured I'd ask around before jumping into it. I'm pretty much a complete newbie on this subject so any information, tips, advice would be excellent. Cowgirl problems

Okay, so my boyfriend doesn't mind missionary, but he wants me to climb on top every once in a while. I totally want to do this for him, but here's the problem. I don't know if my legs are out of shape, or if the bed sinks in too much, or if I'm simply not doing it right, but after a bit of thrusting my legs start to kill, and that's all I can feel. Totally boring, painful, and pleasureless.

I was on Levlen ED and was pretty depressed for the time I was taking it - it may also have been that I was smoking marijuana at the time, but I decided to change pills anyway. I went on Yasmin for about 4 months and kept spotting, so my doctor prescribed me Valette. I'm about mid-way through my first pack and experienced a small amount of bleeding the other day. I had a doctor's appointment for a seperate reason yesterday and mentioned this to my doctor. She said it is likely it is pill related, but I should have a test for Chlamydia aswell.

I have been with my current partner for 3 and a half years and have never had any sexual contact with anyone else (aside from kissing two girls). He had had intercourse on two different occasions with two different people before we were together - I know on one occasion the sex was unprotected, I'm not sure about the other. I have had thrush and UTIs a few times during our relationship but that is all, up until a month ago, when I had some pain/itching during intercourse, but was fine apart from that. Those symptoms have now been gone for several weeks. I have had unprotected (but on birth control) intercourse with my partner hundreds of times. I admit I'd never really considered the prospect he had contracted anything from his two previous experiences - he was 14 and I was 15 when our relationship started and I suppose I was naive. Could I possibly have had Chlamydia for several years with no symptoms until now?

Only took Yasmin for 1 week, still no period. Pregnant?

Hey everyone...

I think my case a little bit particular (but maybe not), and I've tried finding similar stories, but there isn't much I can find that I can compare my situation to.

So I've been on HBC before, specifically Yasmin. Hormonal birth control in almost any variation (I've tried nuvaring, alesse...) tends to mess me up pretty bad. What doesn't help is that I'll go through trends where I'll take HBC for a few months, and then suddenly go off of it for a few months, and then start taking it again when the time calls for it (ie: if I have a boyfriend), which I know is bad in itself.

A little about my history: intense migraines when going off the pill, including aural migraines (bad), and the last time I went off of Yasmin, a few months after having my normal flow, my period just suddenly stopped all together for about 3 months, and I wasn't sexually active.

Here is my CURRENT dilemma: Started Yasmin on first day of my period, which was the end of August. Saw doctor right before September 1st, and she told me that I shouldn't be taking HBC since I get migraines, etc...so I stop taking the pill altogether, even though I had taken about 5-7 days worth of Yasmin by that point. I spot for almost the entire month of September (my period never really goes away), and at the end of September, I have unprotected sex (though he pulls out). Early-mid October, I have sex two more times with the same guy, also unprotected (yes, I was stupid), though he pulled out both times, as well.

It's now mid-November, and still no sign of my period. Since starting Yasmin in late August, I've had bad hormonal acne all over my chin (my skin was fine before), and slight bloating in my lower abdomen. I also had a pretty severe migraine at the end of October. I'm worried that I might be pregnant, and I know I should take a pregnancy test, but I'm wondering if any of you girls have gone through something similar? Thanks.

Ok, I normally don't do this and I'm all for going to the doctor, but currently I'm in the US with no insurance and it'll be another week before I end up in a country where I can more or less visit a doctor, so I'm giving this a shot.

Sex after Pregnancy is painful!

Im really starting to think somthing is WRONG with me.. Im 8 months post partum and everytime me and my husband attempt to have sex it hurts. It hurts when he penetrates acouple of inches( i was always under the understanding that you only have nerves in the bottum 2 inches of your vagina so im confused!) Its really hard to describe it feels like burning/stinging and just that I cant let him go any further becase it hurts to much.

It also stings and hurts to use lube?? I have no idea why...

has anyone had this? know what it is? any advice/ideas

i had a 2nd degree rip/no epi. and lots of stitches which i thought healed well I had no pain.
I exclusivly breastfeed my infant.

Stopping HBC Pills

I think I'm going to stop my hbc. I'm on the 2nd to last day of my 3rd pack and I'm still an emotional wreck. I heard that it can take 3 months to stabilize. Is that 3 calendar months or 3 packs? I really want to give up on these pills now.
Do you need to use a backup method before going off the Pill, or is it okay to start afterward?
Background info: I already started the withdrawal bleed and have not had sex since a few days before that.

Endometrial Ablation Questions

So long as the forces of the universe continue to align in my favor, I will be having mine next Wednesday, November 24.

Brown Discharge?

I'm 18 years old and the last time I got my period was on Oct 11 and it lasted til Oct 18. I had protected sex on Oct 15 & 16.

About 2 weeks after my period ended - on Oct 29 I noticed reddish brown spotting and used a liner. It lasted for about 5 days (was very light on the last 2 days), but I thought it was strange because I never get brown discharge 2 weeks after my period. I'm used to seeing it when my period is about to come and/or a few days after. I don't remember experiencing any stomach pains or cramps. I was going to post about it here back then but when it stopped, I didn't give it too much thought anymore.

My period is late this month, but I have been very stressed out so I believe it's due to that. My cycles are a bit longer, like 33 days.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing and a possible explanation for it?
