Mood swings at weird times in your cycle

So, I have these mood swings that don't fit with the rest of my cycle. I'm not on any birth control, and I'm definitely not pregnant!

I have these really big mood swings that start 3-4 days before my ovulation starts, that go on for a week or so during which I'm convinced that my antidepressants have stopped working and I'm freaking out. It usually ends right after my ovulation peak (the greenest day in my period tracking calendar!), and then I'm OK until my period starts.

So, in essence, I have 1.5 - 2 weeks out of every month that I'm cranky, apathetic, lethargic and just a total bitch. It really sucks. Am I alone in this?

I really don't want to go on birth control either, simply because I don't need it. I'm in a mongamous relationship and my boyfriend is infertile.

I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone is experiencing the same thing and know about any herbal remedies or something like that. Maybe I just need a swift kick in the ass.

strange BC effects on libido?

Okay, so I've heard a whole lot, and previously experienced a whole lot, about BC drastically lowering sex drive.
But I started on a new pill about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and it hasn't so much lowered it as.. changed it. In a seriously irritating way!

Basically, there've been two effects going on.
Firstly, my libido's gone way, way up. I pretty much want it... all the time. Can't think about anything else, like! It's really mucking up my concentration.
And secondly, orgasms have become nigh-on impossible- I get to a point right before it and then come up against a kind of brick wall- and my clit is super-sensitive in a painful kind of way. Everywhere else is all good, though.

Now this combination is, as you might gather, rather incredibly frustrating.

Just wanted to know has anyone else experienced this? Is it the kind of thing that'll sort itself out in another couple of weeks or months? Or is this just a side effect I'll have to live with?

boobs keep getting bigger

Okay, this might not sound like a *bad* problem to have, but I'm feeling very confused. I've always been small. Well, not tiny but I've never really had curves or anything. I wear a 34B bra, and I used to always buy the pushup bras. Last year at this time (11/2005), I was wearing size 5 jeans and needed pushup bras. Now I am wearing size 7 in some jeans, size 10 in AE jeans, and size 10 in worthington (jcpenney misses) dress pants. My tshirts are fitting snugger (size medium) because my boobs are seemingly bigger. I'm also getting a more defined hourglass shape. I'm now starting to buy size large in my tops. I'm currently 23 (will turn 24 in January). I wore smaller clothes in college (I graduated 12/2005), so maybe it was all the bad campus food and the fact that my classes were so far away that I was skinnier. I weighed 120 lbs last year, and I'm at 140 lbs now. I've been on ortho tri cyclen for 3 years, sometimes I've been on the lo, and sometimes just the regular, depending on what my insurance would cover. (BTW, I am very careful with birth control and I am not pregnant) It's crazy that my body changed so much in a year. When I'm not wearing a bra, I'll lean forward and have the sensation of boobs against my rib cage, which is a crazy sensation. Now, my question is....am I just gaining weight, or is this something that happens to everyone around this age? I guess I'm just confused because I figured it would have all happened around 18/19 years old. Is it normal for boobs to grow in a 6 month time period? I swear, back in May/June 2006, they weren't this big. Aaaah, okay I'll stop now. TIA.

Does smoking pot have any affect on my period?

yay im new. and i have a question =]

okay, so i got my last period around september 26 that week...then i missed it for october and  got it yesterday very lightly but today its like done already.
i think this might have to do with the fact that ive recently started smoking pot on a regular basis within the last 2 months but im not sure.
either way, like should i be concerned? or should i wait and see if it comes later in the month or next month and if it doesnt then be concerned?

Ovary Pains?

Hey everyone.

I'm 22 years old and I am taking OTC-lo.  Because I was on antibiotics for my last pack, I skipped my placebo week and started on a new pack after the last active pill.  I'm fairly good at taking it. I have taken it 10 minutes past my usual time, at the most.

Since then, I've been getting pains near where my ovaries are - sharp pains that stop me in my tracks.  It could very well, of course, not be my ovaries or have anything to do with my birth control, but I was just curious to know if anyone else has had this before.

Adenomyosis and... Hysterectomy?

If you remember from this post a couple of weeks ago, I underwent an MRI in hopes(?) of diagnosing adenomyosis. Well, the results are in, and the diagnosis has been confirmed.

In a way, I'm strangely relieved about this part; it's nice to have an answer for what's been causing my problems. And it seems that a diagnosis would be the first step to finding a treatment/management program that works. However, that's just where the complications come in.

Because of the extent/location of the adenomyosis, the doctor who diagnosed my adenomyosis, who works at the women's health center with the NP who sees me for well-woman care, is in favor of me getting a total hysterectomy. He is of the opinion that since, without treatment, my pain has been getting progressively worse over the past year or so, treatments like endometrial ablation, gonadotropin releasing agents (drugs like Lupron), or hormonal birth control are at best temporary solutions. And if my condition progresses, the time may come where they're not enough to manage pain. So a hysterectomy is the only true "treatment" (rather than management) option.

But... well... I don't want one.

Cut because I realized this is a really long-ass post. )

Am I totally off my rocker to want to keep my uterus and my cervix simply because I associate them with my sexuality, a very important part of me? Are there other VPers who feel this way?

Pot interfearing with pregnancy test?

So today my boyfriend and I had sex, we used a condom. However, I think there's a chance I may be pregant. I bit of his pre-cum got around my vaginal opening before he put the condom on. I got all of it off, but I'm not entirely sure if maybe a bit of it still got in there.

Today I'm going over my friends house and she's got some weed that we intend to smoke (this isn't a frequent occurance, this is the first time I've smoked in over a year and it probably won't happen again for a very long time after today.) My period is due in about 2 weeks, so if I don't get my period and I take a pregnancy test, will the marijuana interfear with that? Even though it'll be a couple weeks later? I know that pot sticks in your system..so that's why I'm wondering. Any information you guys could give me would be great! Thanks so much!

So here is a bit about me! )

Period? What period?

My period is doing a disaperaring act, this time last month I had a few watery days then nothing, this month I've had one bleed day then nothing.  I know that stress can cause it to mess up a bit, but this is annoying.  I know I'm not pregnant, I don't want to go to the doctor as they will just put me on the pill and I hate it, I always forget to take it.

Thanks in advance.
