Vaginal Orgasms versus Clitoral Orgasms

Question: How many of you have vaginal orgasms from intercourse?

I've been wondering how prevalent orgasms during intercourse are. I've always thought vaginal orgasms weren't very common, that women mainly orgasm from clitoral stimulation. If I orgasm, either during PIV, oral, or masturbation, it is because there is some clitoral stimulation.

I orgasm more easily from vaginal than clitoral. A clit orgasm is nice, but it's brief and bright, whereas a vaginal one can keep on pulsing and building and take me completely over. When with a partner, I usually tell them not to bother playing with my clit; if I want that feeling, I take care of it myself, because someone else's fingers or tongue frequently just feel annoying rather than pleasurable. (Although this is different with female partners. I quite enjoy receiving oral from women, but the finger issue is still the same.) But I think my clit borders on oversensitive to begin with.

(I will note here that I have had many partners both male and female, and it's really not a matter of my partner being unskilled. I'm simply built differently than most, it seems.)

I need clitoral action, but I'm able -- if there's been enough foreplay -- to do some hip-tucking that provides me with sufficient clitoral stimulation during PIV to manage. I don't class this as a "vaginal" orgasm, personally, though it is a PIV one.

I can have vaginal orgasms from sex, but they aren't the same feeling as a clitoral orgasm.. they aren't as good/intense, but they are more frequent. Sometimes if we have sex for a long time it's just like one big vaginal orgasm and I feel bad that my boyfriend only gets one and I have like 5.

I can orgasm from penetration 100% of the time, as well as clitoral stimulation. My boyfriend apparently thought I was faking for the first 8 months of my relationship, and then felt the need to inform me that I'm in a "low percentage" of women. Thanks dear :p

penetration is an (almost) absolute necessity for me to orgasm; i orgasm (almost) every time I have PIV sex. after years of perfecting this method, i've decided it's both a combo of the penetration (and stimulation of my gspot), and the indirect stimulation of my clit from my partner's pubic bone. in order to get off from rear-entry positions, my clit either needs to be pressed against a pillow/blanket, or i need to be lightly touching it (just holding my index finger next to my clit works for me perfectly). but i also understand i am in the minority in this camp.

I'm lucky enough to orgasm regularly during PIV sex, but it's not from the vaginal stimulation alone. Key is simultaneous clitoral stimulation, which somehow occurs very easily between me and my current boyfriend in almost any position (except rear entry).

So, keep in mind that 'orgasming during PIV sex' and 'only orgasming from clitoral stimulation' are not mutually exclusive. It can be combined!

What do we mean when we say "vaginal orgasm?" An orgasm that occurs while penetrative sex is happening? I have those, but I wouldn't say my clit isn't being stimulated. When my wife and I have sex with our strap-on, I almost always have them. No one is touching my clit but I'm sure it's rubbing against something somehow.

I just never really understood the difference between a "vaginal orgasm" and a "clitoral orgasm."

I don't really like direct clitoral stimulation, but indirect is great. The sides/arms/root of the clitoris goes down along the sides of the vaginal opening, and deeper, so penetrative sex does get me off. Like withevrylite, I don't quite understand the difference between vaginal and clitoral orgasms. The clit is much larger than the little external nubbin!

All the time. I realy like having some sort of internal stimulation in addition to clitoral stimulation, and can reach orgasm from PIV sex- I don't pay a lot of attention to whether my clitoris is somehow being stimulated during the process.
