weird menses pattern

greetings;

i am not sure whether any of you ladies has this before but i am worried for my ownself and the fact that it's not literally normal at all.
i am 22years old. never had abortion before in my whole entirely life but it seems that since 2 -3 years ago. my menses pattern is a weird
one. my menses will only last for 4-5days. and the blood is brownish and at times fresh blood. it's a tiny dosage of blood on the pad. it's like
as if i am not losing any blood at all.
is it because i am pressurized with work/school/family? i had my first menarche when i was 10years old. am i showing sign of premature
menopause?

Well, when you say "only" last for four to five days -- that's far from unusual, in fact a five day period is considered the general "average." (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=Menstruation#How_long_does_menstruation_last.3F) Some women of course usually have shorter or longer periods, but five is considered the most average possible length.

As for the rest of it... well, just because your flow is generally light, I don't think that necessarily means that you're looking at premature menopause. You may want to check out the symptoms of menopause here (http://www.project-aware.org/Experience/premature.shtml)... all in all though, entering menopause in your 20s is quite rare, and the information you've given here doesn't really indicate that's what's going on.

It probably just means that as your body has settled into adulthood, you have a lighter flow than you previously did.

I'll also add that since many pads sort of suck the blood downward, they often don't visibly show an accurate representation of how much they have absorbed.

So honestly -- what you've described here doesn't sound abnormal in the least. In fact, it sounds like a fairly normal period for someone whose flow is a bit lighter than others.

Just FYI, I'm not aware that abortions can affect future menstrual patterns at all. However, hormonal birth control can affect the amount of flow.

Is there anything else not mentioned in this post that makes you feel your periods are abnormal?

I'm not really sure what abortion would have anything to do with it, but ... my periods last about 3 days, 4 at the most, and tend to be pretty light. And I don't consider mine even close to abnormal.

Ever since I was 15 or 16 (I got my first period when I was 12), my periods have only lasted 2-4 days, and have been so light that I barely needed a tampon. It may be that your body is just settling into a pattern of light periods. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Your periods sound perfectly normal.

Like everyone else so far I would say that your situation sounds normal in terms of someone who has lighter/shorter periods. However if you check at symptom list that someone else posted a link too and you find you have other symptoms then I would consult a doctor. However if you are not having any other issues with it and you are not in serious pain or anything along those lines I would not worry about it. ^_^

abortions have no effect on your cycle whatsoever
