Pubes

Do men prefer a woman with a shaved pubic area? How come?

And also, my Nair for bikini line bottle says not to put the stuff near my vaginla or perianal areas. Just how far down should I use this stuff?

Some do. Some don't. Depends on the man. As for the Nair, I wouldn't put it any farther down than your stomach, or any farther up than your mid thigh.

I think men prefer different things. There's not one thing they all like best. Some like lots of fur, others like it bald, others like it trimmed neatly but not gone, others don't really care what the pubic hairstyle is. Men aren't all the same, they're people and they have different tastes.

Nair anywhere near your bits is a giant no-no. Do not do it.

i use veet and it says the same thing. i do it anyway, im just careful. oh well

It genuinely depends on the man as to what they like. They all have different tastes, and if you'd rather not go bald then don't. :)

As for the Nair, I used it a few times on my mons pubis and the creases of my legs. Once I got any further in, especially on the inside part of my outer labia, I got severe chemical burn. It hurt sooo bad, and gave me a bright red rash. Not so sexy. Be careful.

If you've never used Nair before, try a little patch on your leg first. If you have sensitive skin you probably won't want it anywhere above your knees. I have pretty sensitive skin myself, and I've never been able to use it above my knees without it itching and burning like crazy. Even below my knees it can get kind of irritating!

As far as shaved or not...some like it, some don't. I've never fully shaved the area, probably never will. I keep it trimmed though, and that seems to work just fine. =)

Men like girls. They think girls are neat. (This comes straight from my housemate).

It really doesn't matter what a guy thinks as long as you are doing something that you are comfortable with. If you want to try shaving your pubic hair, go for it (very carefully). I don't, and my partners have all been cool with it.

Keep the NAIR off of the mucous membrane.

I'd say it's more important to consider what you like rather than what anyone else does, male or female.

I wouldn't use the chemical stuff on... well, anything. Just trim it down, take a long hot bath, shave with a new razor and use some Tend Skin lotion afterwards.

I don't even use Nair on my legs. They get rashy.

And some men prefer women with shaved pubic areas, some prefer women with a trim, some prefer long hair. It depends on the men. What do you prefer on yourself? That's the most important thing. After that, what do the men you're interested in prefer? No one else's opinion matters.

I like trimmed/shaven women.

It depends on the guy. As for those who like it shaved, I'm guessing that some like it for aesthetic reasons (though I myself don't like the look of it; I guess it could make things easier to see, though), and some like it for practicality -- makes it easier to do oral sex, for example. I won't shave mine because shaving my thighs right by my pubic area is irritating enough and usually gives me a rash, and I don't want to deal with that and pricklies in uncomfortable places. I trim it so it's not super long, but still long enough to look a bit bushy.

[identity profile] h0rsegurrrl.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
I've never known a man who wasn't repulsed by a full bush on a woman (I actually dated one goofball who got all grossed out if I went a day without shaving, but refused to even trim his huge bush ::shivers::).

As for Nair: No Nair. Shaving is much less hive-and-rash-inducing.

Men are very different in that area. Some men like it, some don't, and some don't care either way. I know mine prefers me shaved, because he says oral is easier and more inviting then-pubes in the teeth doesn't turn him on.

It's just like women really-some women like skinny guys, some like fatter ones-some girls like guys with big dicks, some like smaller ones. There is no hard and fast rule for what one whole gender likes, because each person as an individual is so unique it's impossible to catagorize the whole gender.

Some don't seem to have a preference one way or the other. One person I dated (but didn't quite end up having sex with) talked about how great it was that his ex shaved it bald, but my ex actually hated it when I wanted to shave or even trim. It really depends on the guy.

About the Nair: You already know the directions say you're not supposed to use the stuff anywhere near your bits. But I've given myself a full Brazilian with it, and nothing has ever happened. Just the standard temporary irritation you get when it's used on the legs. So, use at your own risk!

[identity profile] stateofwonder.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
I personally don't give a shit what guys think. It's my twat, and I'm not going bald for nobody. I do like to keep it trimmed though. I've never had any complaints.

[identity profile] die-in-a-fire.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
Do what YOU want with your hair. It is yours. I've shaved in the past to make guys happy, but it isn't worth the irritation, ingrown hairs and trouble I experienced. My vulva and I are a team now, and we're not changing for nobody.

[identity profile] thatbitchfiona.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I understand that it is a personal choice to shave any pubic hair, but for me, I would never do it. It would make me feel almost prepubescent.

[identity profile] misplaced-nyer.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a total preferance thing. My boyfriend doesn't care as long as I keep things 'under control.' I personally shave/wax/whatever simply because I like how it feels.
Some guys like the smooth look and feel, others don't like it because they think it looks like the girl hasn't hit puberty.
To each his own. Just do what you like and let the boys deal with it.
