Tags are set so that the VP mods can manage/edit them -- the reasons for this are explained in this section (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=VaginaPagina_FAQ#What_are_.22tags.22_and_how_are_they_used_in_VP_on_LJ.3F) of our FAQ. Hope that answers your question! :)
