Sunless tanner + Bikini Area

I'm sick of being so pale, and since I have relatives who have had skin cancer, tanning is right out. So I want to try a sunless tanner. Are they safe to use on the bikini area? Are they effective? I'd like to use it on the area where I shave - will it be horribly irritating on that skin?

I've never used any kind of sunless tanner before, so any other suggestions you might have would be great, too.

Dove and Jergens both make a really cool form of sunless tanner, that isn't an unnatural sudden orange color.
It's the stuff that you use as a regular lotion every day all over, and it will gradually give you a literally natural tan.

It rocks. That's what I would recommend, as one pale person to another.

I use Jergins. I do recomend you exfoliate your legs a thoroughly beforehand. I shave my legs right before hand, but not my pubic area. Otherwise, the follicles on my legs turn a slightly deeper color.

and yeah, if you use Jergins and only apply it every other day, it will still give you some color. I forgot to apply it to the backs of my knees the first time and you could see the difference.

Oh yeah, the follicle issue (and the noticable difference one, too) may be attributed to the fact that I am super fair complected and chose a lotion for medium skin tones (damn my impatience!).
