'lumpy' cervix?

Sorry if this is a repeat, but I can't seem to find anything that answers my question in the archives.

My cervix feels 'different'. I'm not sure if I can say I feel one or more specific bumps, but it just feels different. I can't tell if they are bumps or ridges or what. All I know is that on any other occasion my cervix has always felt completely smooth, and now there is a texture. Lumpy? Maybe that's a better description.

Could anyone either tell me or link me to somewhere that I can research this. I'd just like to know what cysts feel like, or even HPV? I have no idea what this is, but I do know that this is not normal for me.

I've had no new sexual partners since my last pap/STI tests so I don't think that it's an STI, although I've heard that alot of them are only symptomatic after a longer period of time.

Just to let you know, I am making a doctor's appointment for early next week to get this checked out. In the meantime, any information you guys could give me would be GREATLY appreciated.

The cervix can change a lot over the course of a cycle. If you have only recently started checking it, you may notice this much more.

The first possibility that springs to mind is nabothian cysts. They feel like lumps, and are pretty harmless (unless they bleed, or similar).

It's good to get these things checked out of course, but try not to worry too much until then.

I have HPV and some moderate dysplasia, and in my research I have seen pictures of dysplasia that looks sort of bumpy. Obviously if you're going for regular paps it's not going to be anything like cervical cancer out of nowhere... Here's a picture that shows various stages of dysplasia, if you think it might feel like this: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/cervicaldysplasia/images/cervix_exam.gif

That's the only area I have any ideas about, but it's better to be informed than uninformed. Good luck. Let us know how the appointment goes. :)

Mine feels very soft and sort of lumpy (like... the cottage-cheesy fat on thighs, kinda?) when I'm ovulating. Could it be that?

Nabothian cysts feel hard, a hard smooth lump. Like calloused skin.

To me it feels on top of the skin, or maybe rather that the skin itself had hardened. Like on h
