VCH Piercing

Hello. :) So, I've decided to get a VCH (vertical clit hood) piercing. And I'm wondering what all ya'll knew about it or even if any of you had one or knew of any really good reference sites regarding that specific piercing or what-have-you.

The biggest concern I have is healing time, because my partner and I don't get to see each other except for once every couple of weeks and so we get straight to the sex when we do get to see each other. He says that he wouldn't have (vaginal) sex (so, the plus would I'd still be getting oral and anal, either way) with me until after it's healed, because he doesn't want to risk getting it infected, but how long does it take for it to heal and when can you have sex again after getting it done?

I don't have any specific experiences with VCH piercings, but VP does have some tagged posts on piercings (http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/tag/piercings); perhaps something in there will give you more info.

VaginaPagina.com also has some archived posts on body modification (http://www.vaginapagina.com/archives.php#Body%20Modification). Not all of them involve clitoral piercings, but they might be worth looking through.

Happy reading!

I love mine! I don't have much in depth to say, but I found it quite painless, very attractive, stimulating, and a special bond with my partner (he got his PA pierced at the same time). I highly recomend it as an exciting way to adorn your vulva!!

Honestly after getting into some really indepth conversations with a number of different piercers they all talked me out of it. Yah it may feel good for awhile but then it desensities and looses feeling. Not what I want at all. Not to mention the guy I am seeing right now is an ex body piercer and he flat out told me he would not do it to me. For the reason of potentally loosing all feeling down there after a bit. Like he said, it's just never the same. You should try and find some one who used to have it done, or has had it donee for a long time and talk to them

I had sex the day I got my piercing, but you MUST wear a condom and also wash after you have sex.

Just peeing on it is the best method of cleaning it.

While it's a quick healing piercing, due to the amount of blood flow to the area, I found mine to be more exciting psychologically than the actual physicality of it.
While I loved the idea of having a VCH, it didn't actually feel all that good. Infact, it would get in the way during masturbation, and sometimes during sex. After 2 years, I took it out. I think I mostly left it in to justify the amount of money I spent on it! haha
Good luck on whatever you chose! :)

I don't have any genital piercings, but I think you'll probably want to hold off on the oral sex, too, or anything at all unnecessary coming into contact with it.

There are a lot of bacteria in the mouth. A warm, moist vagina can make a very good place for bacteria to grow. I do know from experience that nipple rings are not supposed to be anywhere near mouths, unwashed hands, or anything at all avoidable, really, until they've healed. By a simple extension of logic, I think the same probably holds true for hood piercings as well. I also know that you don't want to jostle a new piercing around a whole lot.

If you've gotta have oral sex, you should definitely be super cautious. Use a dental dam, or at least make sure he rinses with listerine before hand, doesn't have too much listerine left in his mouth during the oral sex (alcohol and other astringents are bad bad bad for piercings; they cause the skin to tighten, shrinking the hole, and thereby inhibiting draining, which causes irritation, infections, and can, if I remember the words of the master piercer correctly, lead to rejection of the piercing), and of course make sure you wash up very well after.

Also, check out bmezine.com for information on piercings, aftercare, experiences, etc. It's a very informative site.

During the time I had it in, I found my clit wasn't barely as sensitive as it had been. After taking it out, sensation has returned! Much rejoycing!
:)

hahaha, you and me both doll!

Two ways; when you're sitting on the toliet.. you cup your hand over yourself so the pee splashes back onto the piercing (I did not do it!), but I did lean foward when on the toliet, it seemed to have hit it.. a few times. Lol
The other way is when in the shower or whatever, you lean foward completely, it really soaks it.

By peeing on it once a day and just putting sea salt water on it everytime you touch/had sex, etc helps.

I hate condoms too, but you only need to be protected for 2.5-3 weeks. It also depends on how often you clean and how its healing. But if you want sex right away.. condom is your best method.

Vibrator + VCH = CLING, CLING, CLING!!
Always makes me laugh xD

[identity profile] chotix.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Also remember.. no rough sex. You'll hurt yourself!

Good luck. The pain is barely anything! You'll just have an sharp little pain, but after half an hour it'll numb away. When you sit down, you'll go "ow" cause you forgot you got something naughty pierced. I giggled everytime I sat down, haha.

[identity profile] chotix.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Haha. It was hard for me too!!! But any sex is better than no sex xD

The feeling may be there, but it might be to numb cause you did just pierce through tissue. For sure it'll be quite sensitive and in some discomfort. But remember it's only temporary. :)

Btw, it doesn't stimulate your clit, I have mine stretched to an 8ga. I believe it may give me just a little bit of stimulation, but not much. A lot of people say "omg, it makes me orgasm so hard, sex so good!". A clit piercing or a triangle does that sorta of job. :P

Maintainer Note

[identity profile] frolicnaked.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hi there. In the future, it's important to avoid making comments in VP that use the word "clean" to mean "STI-free." Using "clean" that way implies that people who have STIs are "dirty," and we prefer not to further that harmful stereotype. We realize you can't edit comments, so we simply ask that you keep this note in mind for the future.

For more information on this policy, you can read our guidelines here:

I understand, and I really think the vast majority of people don't mean any harm with their phrasing. It's just something a lot of people don't think much about, but it's good to learn to think in different ways and to see situations from other people's perspectives. :)

[identity profile] frolicnaked.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, dear. There goes any motivation I had for getting a clitoral piercing. ;)

I loves me my vibrator(s), but the CLING, CLING, CLING!! would definitely make me giggle during use and ruin my concentration.

[identity profile] chotix.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
When I had a CBR(ring) in my VCH, I always had to lift up my ring.. very annoying.

I tried any way of masturbating, laying under the tap. ;)

[identity profile] chotix.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
You will be tender for 2-3 weeks (every woman is different). It's not bad, you just get "pinched" when you sit down.

I hope whatever I said helps! :)

After 8 years, mine still felt good.

[identity profile] lily-a-go-go.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
I honestly think I waited a month to have sex after getting mine. It did heal pretty fast though.

I had my hood piercing for 8 years. The only reason I took it out was because I was pregnant and thought it would get in the way. I regret removing it.

Sex felt great and I never lost any sensation at all.

[identity profile] moochymonster.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I waited two months after getting mine but I wasn't in a relationship at the time.
You'd probably be fine for sexual acts that steer clear of the clit and if you clean up afterwards. The place I got mine supplied antibacterial soap (which has since come handy for my mooncup).
I'd say as well if you do get it done be aware that at first you not only feel the pinch when you sit down but also when you cough, sneeze or yawn. Well I did anyway. Very strange.

I'd fully recommend a VCH. I've had no loss of sensation. An adjustment to how I go about things (can use the ball on the ring to stimulate myself).

[identity profile] chicky.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Your comment pretty much sums up exactly why mine was taken out after about 6 months - it was in the way and did nothing for me. Sure, it's cool to know you have this little secret bit of jewelry, but aside from that I got nothing out of it.

Getting and healing it was fine - it pinched like any other piercing I've gotten and I was having sex after a week. In terms of losing sensation, I think any "loss" was due to the fact that with the jewelry in I couldn't touch myself the way I liked to (yes, the "clikclikclikclik" of jewelry plus vibrator is amusing as hell). Plus it seemed to be migrating out, and I definitely didn't want that.

[identity profile] miharu.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I've had mine for about 5 years, I've had no loss of sensation.

It can get in the way with masturbation and sometimes during sex. The biggest problem I have with it is during oral sex; sometimes my husband will suck wrong or something and I'll feel a little annoying pinch.

Getting pierced is pretty easy: the pain of the piercing goes away almost immediately and it heals up quickly and nicely. I recommend using a castille soap to cleanse twice a day after a sea salt soak (note: I don't recommend using bottled saline solution, too many preservatives.) It usually takes about 2 weeks to heal, but can take about a month. If you see your boyfriend in the later stages of healing, you can gently have sex with a condom but I'd stay clear of oral until you're sure you can take it.
My gauge of determining this would be to play with it a little - if it hurts, then don't do it.

[identity profile] itswaytolate.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I had mine done just after i was 17 and it was really good. I will admit unliek some people said on her, mine DID hurt a bit but after a day or two it settles down. Mine healed really well and yes urine works best im afraid but i know people who have used spray on savlon stuff and it worked just as well.

Its a great piercing to have as long as you keep it clean and look after it. Unfortunatly i had to take mine out due to going into hospital, but i would def get it done again.

[identity profile] cthulhulicious.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Second the caution on the oral here.

And just to be clear, I'm only talking about the normal bacteria that are always present in everybody's mouth -- infections from human bites can be nasty, and you could get something similar this way, and not in the greatest location.
