First Mooncup insertion

I used to have a Divacup, but I accidently destroyed it. :( So I got a Mooncup because it was cheapest, and my period just started so in she went.

I first tried it with the full stem and immediately realised that wasn't going to work. The way I inserted my Divacup - I'd push on the tip of the cup to get it right into place, I couldn't do this with a long stem so I chopped it to about the length of the Divacup's original stem and tried again. Still couldn't get firm enough purchase to push it by the end. So I cut the stem pretty much all the way off.

The Mooncup is a lot squishier than the Diva so it was still awkward to push on it this way, the cup kept collapsing or tilting sideways instead of going further in.

I think I have it pretty much in place now. I guess we'll see as the day wears on.

just out of curiousity, how did you destroy the divacup?

Ha, I remember you. You posted about that somewhere, right?

I'm kind of afraid to boil mine, because I'm afraid that I would do the same thing.

I have done that *twice* so far. No more boiling for me.. I'm apparently incapable of using a timer.

Interesting. I actually find my Mooncup to be firmer than my Diva Cup. Well, the rim of the Mooncup is thicker, so I find it firmer. The rest of my Mooncup is pretty much on par, texture-wise, with my Diva.

I've *always* wanted a diva cup! How long did it take you to learn how to use it?
