Lumpy breasts-related to cycle?

Hey ladies, a short story and questions for y'all. Today, when I was getting ready to take a shower, I noticed an odd discoloration on my breast-a super pale spot right on the edge of my areola. Being the sort of strange person I am, I poked at it a bit, thinking maybe it was a pimple. :/ Unfortunately, poking revealed a dime-ish sized area under the discoloration that was hard and lumpy. Of course, I panicked and did the all over grope thing, and found a few more beebe like lumps on the same breast. My question is this: all the normal signs point to my period starting in the next day or so, is their any correlation between these lumpy bits and my cycle? Is it normal, or even vaguely possible, or should I be calling my doc?

Yes, it's perfectly possible that this has something to do with your cycle - in fact, that's probably the most likely explanation. However, if you've never noticed anything like this before, it's worth going to the doctor in any case, just to be sure.

Did you notice anything in your other breast? Just keep an eye on it, if it's still around once your period ends you could give your doctor a call. I've never experiened anything like that but it's probably nothing to worry about. :)

And I guess I am sort of a strange person too because my first inclination would have been to try to pop it! haha

Mine too! LOL
When I get pimples, I just can't leave them alone.

I would keep a sharp eye on it. Theres more of a chance of treating something in its early stages.

I do the same poking thing too lol.

I would call the dr and let him/her know what you found. It is possible that you just have "lumpy" brests. I have lumpy breasts, but recently had one removed because it was so large...your cycle CAN definately cause these lumps to flair up.

I'm not going to tell you it's nothing to worry about because I don't know, but your breasts change throughout your cycle. That's why they tell you to always do your breast self exam at the same time every month. If you changed it around, you would always be feeling different lumps or consistencies, and it would confuse you.
If you've never had anything like that happen before though, I would say see a doctor.
