birthcontrol and pregnqncy

okay so i read this article about a girl who went to the hospital thinking she had a stomach ache but in all actuality, she was nine months pregnant and giving birth;

how does someone not know something like that about their body? is this common?

also, say someone was to get pregnant while on the pill.. would their periods stop or ould the pill continue to make their `artificial period´??

thanx:

Both my mother and my mother in law had normal periods right through their pregnancies - and they had six between them! If it hadn't been for the positive pregnancy tests, they would never have known they were pregnant until they either felt the kicking (hubby was a kicker!) or gave birth (my brothers were not movers nor kickers). And both were of normal weight and height.

So it is certainly possible to *not* know you are pregnant...
