What the former poster said... i.e. it's perfectly safe, but I wouldn't do it for too long at once. (i.e. every few months it's probably good to have a period)I'm actually currently participating in a study of a new b.c. pill which will be (if approved) prescribed as a three month pill. I know their safety stuff is ok so far because the trial was extended. And I love it. LOVE it. My periods are lighter, I don't have them as often, and the only problem is that if i miss a pill in month 3 (and sometimes if I don't) I get some light spotting at about 2.5 months. There was actually a fabulous article in the new yorker about it about 3-4 years ago *rummages online* Ha! Found it. March 13, 2000 p. 52.
