Cramping right after my period? Ovulation?

Howdy y'all!

So, my last period started on the 8th and ended on the 17th. It was a bit shorter in duration than the other periods I've had recently, but otherwise normal with regards to strength of flow and whatnot.

So, it ended two days ago, but right now I'm getting *killer* cramps - like, busting-out-the-pain-meds-cause-this-ain't-pretty kind of cramps. The pain is on the lower sides of my pelvis, right around where my ovaries are, and it's hurting on both sides. Any ideas what's causing it? I've got a Mirena IUD in place, but for me it doesn't seem to suppress ovulation. Going by the typical length of my cycle, I wouldn't normally be ovulating yet - but could it be that I'm just ovulating early this time around? Can early ovulation *happen*? Or should I get this checked out?

(Also, has anyone else ever wished their reproductive organs were people so they could just tell them to knock it off with the shenanigans already?!)

Bleeding a lot

Hi all,

I had sex with my boyfriend last night and when I woke up this morning, I was bleeding vaginally a lot. I only noticed it when I wiped, but it was a lot of bright red blood, almost dripping (like more than when I get my period). I've ben having sex for over a year and this is the first time it happened...should I go straight to the ER? I'm really scared.

Hi everyone, I would have responded to the recent post but I am worried no one will see it now...

Basically last night my friend told me that it is very easy to OPT OUT OF BOTH abusive screenings (the x-ray and pat-down) if you say, "No - this is against my constitutional rights. You have no warranted cause to search me." And apparentely, if they continue they can get in big trouble. And if they make you wait longer because of this, they and the airlines will have to repay your ticket if you miss your flight.

He was extremely adament about this. Have any of you tried this?
He says stories like the parent with the young child video happened just because the parent did not know her rights and express them.

I am definitely going to do this on Tuesday when I fly home.

EDIT:: Thanks for the responses. I thought he didn't know what he was talking about too. I just talked to him again and he is still convinced that everyone should do this. It is true that one of the only ways to protect our rights is to KNOW THEM and express them. I just read this article:

Which explains that if you refuse, you will be questioned until they find reason to realize that you are not a threat.

I recommend EVERYONE do this. I am still afraid I could get arrested or fined, but it is very likely I will attempt this on my way back if I have ample time and am chosen for the searches.

I feel like we MUST be active in overcoming this. The constitution has been forfeited for the past eight years - now that it is touching everyone's lives through these airport screenings, I hope it causes for some uprising. The TSA WANTS fear. If I were you and afraid of flying because of these new measures, I would TURN THAT FEAR the other way. That is exactly what they want from us.

Nuvaring Removal/When will I get my period?

I've been on Nuvaring for about 12 months now.
I think I want to stop, and pretty much the only reason I'm still using it is because I want to control when I get my period this month.

I have had this current ring in for about a week. If I take out the ring tomorrow will I get my period in the next few days? Or will I get my period around the time I would normally remove the ring? Both? It makes sense that removing it would alter my cycle, but I want to make sure.

Pegging!

Why hello fabulous VP-ers!

My current sex partner (a cis-gendered male) and I (a cis-gendered female) are very interested in pegging, and plan to purchase a strap-on in the near future. While I know the *logistics* of pegging, and we are also going to do some non-harness-using anal play to work up to a full-fledged harness, I am curious about the experiences of people who have engaged in pegging.

Any tips? Tricks? Experiences (be it positive or negative)?

3 periods in less than two months?!?

So, here's the deal. I had a period in late October, around the 20th and then to my great surprise, I had another one about a week and a half ago. Then yesterday I started bleeding again! I have always had regular periods and have never encountered something like this. The only thing I have been doing differently is taking doxycycline for a really nasty upper respiratory infection. I still have not completed the regiment but I have been taking it for over two weeks. I am not taking any kind of hormonal birth control so I know its not interference with anything like that. Just for good measure, I took a pregnancy test to make sure that I wasn't having a miscarriage and it was negative. What gives?! Should I take another pee test to be positive?
