I had to get emergency contraception this morning. I can't remember what brand they gave me but I just realized that the two pills were labeled "pill 1" and "pill 2" and you are supposed to take pill 1, and pill 2 twelve hours later. The problem is that I accidentally took pill 2 first. I will still take the second pill ("pill 1") in twelve hours. Do you know if the two pills are the same dosage or if my mistake will affect anything?

Thank you.

Pap smear insurance issue

I know this is not really vagina related but you superstars are always such a great help I thought you might have some advice for me.
I needed a refill on my HBC but my doctor had refused to give me any until I got a pap well I didn't think much of it and made an appt. to get the pap done because I didn't want to be without my pills I could of sworn it had been over a year since my last one but guess what I got the pap done  1 month 4 days to early so my insurance would not approve it. I think that is crazy I am suppose to not take my pills?? You are suppose to wait till the VERY last min to get your pap? it seems like it was a double edge sword. Has anyone else had this issue and was there anything that fixed it because I really don't have the 237 bucks to pay for the damn exam. Sorry Im a bit angry.
Thanks for the input

Weird Menstrual Issues

I should start by saying I had an abortion in April of this year.  I am not sure if this would be related or not.
Everything went fine there.  Had my follow up, everything fine, blah blah blah.  I got my first period post ab. May 23rd.  The cramping was very severe for the first day or so, and then subsided.  It lasted a little longer than it normally would have.   Skip forward to the next month, June I got it on the 17th.  Nothing out of the ordinary there.  Mild cramping, nothing serious, but again lasted longer than normal.  9 days to be exact.

Now come to July.  Got my period on the 15th of July.  On Saturday, the 18th, I was on the couch all day with cramps I could not control.  I tried the heating pad, Midol, regular ibuprofen, nothing helped.  Another weird thing, is when the cramps started, my bleeding stopped completely.  Sunday the cramps were better but not gone.

Monday the 20th, back comes the flow! (I should point out here too when I say this, there is no SPOTTING about it.  It hasn't been super heavy or anything, but I just wanted to clarify that I am not referring to spotting at all....it's bleeding...and very much BOOM here it is and BOOM it's gone.  No working up to it, and working its way out.  It's there....it's gone)  This time lasted until Thursday the 23rd.   I have been having more cramping, but again nothing super severe (other than that Saturday I was on the couch all day).

Well, yesterday, the 29th, everything came right on back! Cramps and all.  Shooting pains down my leg, really crampy in my lower abdomen, lower back, etc.

I know that the pregnancy messes up cycles, and it HAS only been 3 months since the end of it, but I don't understand how things went so well in the beginning and it seemed to be pretty normal return to my cycle, and now all of a sudden it's all out of wack like this.

Any thoughts?

Huh?

I went to Planned Parenthood for an annual exam...and the doctors there refused to give me one, because my blood iron levels are really, really low (6 ug/dL; normal for a woman is 40-150 ug/dL). Any insight as to why they would not continue? What dangers were possible if they had? Can anyone help me figure it out?

Period Stopping Suddenly

Yesterday I was completing the 4th mile of my run, when I felt a horrible side stitch. I had to stop running for about 10 minutes until I could recover.I usually never get these, which is what made me think it may have been period related. After that,my period stopped completely. It was pretty heavy flow before though. This is rather weird because usually I'll have some spotting, and it will last longer than 2 days.I'm still having cramps...and I took a blood pregnancy test a couple of days ago, and it was negative, so that is ruled out.any ideas on why this happened?

my body works!!!!!!

Hey, VPers.  I've been wanting to write this post for a while, but haven't had the chance.  I'm glad I finally have a few minutes to do it.

I have always been one of those barely-orgasmic women who hardly ever climaxes during masturbation or partner sex unless I or my partner is doing that one-special-thing-with-my-legs-here-and-his-fingers-there-and-all-the-stars-are-in-alignment.  I have a huge libido and my lack of ability to orgasm has always been really upsetting for me, which makes sex really frustrating.  I've kind of gotten on by just not talking about my lack of orgasms until I've been with someone for several months and feel comfortable saying hey, you know, I'd really like to cum, and I hope you love me enough to learn how to help, please, and don't look at me funny?  I've been masturbating since forever, but when you can only get off by lying on your stomach and grinding against something, it gets really boring.

And then, a few weeks ago, I slept with a friend of a friend, and he was going down on me and bam: orgasm.  And not only that, but I female ejaculated.  Holy crap.  It was quite possibly one of the most exciting experiences of my life.  It was super amazing.  We started going at it again later in the evening, and I orgasmed from penetration and his fingers.  I don't think I could be more surprised.  I totally thought I was just going to be sexually frustrated for the rest of my life.

I would love to be able to "practice" with him a few times so that I could gain some confidence and muscle memory, but unfortunately, we live in different places.  But since that's not possible, it's at least really fantastic to feel like my body isn't broken and it does just take time and experience.  I'll definitely be more open with partners and more patient with my own body from here on out.

I know that there are often posts on VP about orgasmic abilities, so I hope a few women will benefit from reading this.

Edited to add: I'm 24 and have been having sex for seven years.  So, when I say experience, I don't mean like, two months.  :)

Hair loss with yaz?

Has anyone experienced any hair loss while taking yaz? I have nice thick hair but am getting paranoid that yaz may be causing it to fall out. I am about to start my 3rd pack.

Lingerie stores?

I need to buy some new bras and  panties but I don't have time to go to the mall to get some. I know there are a lot of websites that sell good bras and panties .. I just don't know of any :) I don't have a lot of money right now so Victoria's Secret is out they are way too expensive. If any of you VPers know of any online stores that have good prices I would love to know them :) Thanks in advance!

Oh ... btw ... I am a 36D if that makes any difference.

Horrible Gyno Appointment

I just got back from the gyno, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I went there for three reasons:

1.) Discuss getting an IUD
2.) Get a pap
3.) I've been having pain while having sex for about a year now, and no other gyno has helped out

HBC-related depression

After my last post, I went to Planned Parenthood where they switched me from the Patch to the Pill: Microgestin Fe 1/20 (I think particularly that one since I complained of headaches, though my main concern was depression). Well I'm 1.5 weeks into my first pack, and bam, depressed again. At least as bad as I ever was on the Patch. I'm tempted to just throw this pack away and go natural until I get my insurance in line for an IUD, but my mother, among others, thinks maybe I should at least finish the week, probably the month, and hope that this side effect will pass. I couldn't bring myself to do it with the Patch, though I was 2 months in and the effects are supposed to go away after 3 if they do. I'm confident that my boyfriend and I are capable of using other methods to keep me from getting pregnant. I'm terrified that my depression and general moodiness has come between us already (well, it has interfered to some extent, that is certain) and will ruin things in the long run.

I don't know if I'm asking for advice so much as looking for a place to get this out? Though I'm wondering how long it will take my hormone levels to return to whatever normal is should I decide to make this morning's pill my last. Oh, and. I'm wondering if the hormones in Mirena could have the same effect on me.

Might have messed up my menstrual cycle!

Heya, so basically I was on the pill Yasmin for 3 months, and then after my pill free week on the third month (where I had a period, or fake period... Whatever it's called) I stopped taking the pills for 2 weeks (and I didn't have any bleeding or spotting during that time). Recently, I decided that I wanted to come back on it, and so I took a pill on Monday from a new packet. I forgot to take the pill on Tuesday, and I took it on Wednesday. However, I want to come off it again (permanently this time! I'm concerned about the health risks), and so I was wondering whether my periods will arrive in a few weeks time as scheduled as if I was on the pill, or later? Or have I completely messed them up? Will they become irregular? Also, would the 2 extra pills i've taken have an impact on my cycle, or will my cycle be as normal from when I stopped taking the pill 2 weeks ago?

I'm thinking of taking parsley tea to induce a period, but i'm not sure if this would be a good idea... Should I just wait? I just want my periods to come back to normal!
