Prolonged Period.
Hello.
So, I'm usually one of those girls that gets really lucky when it comes to her rag; two or three days and I'm all done until next time. For the past couple months (three or four) my period has been a regular cycle (28 days or so) which is unusual considering the last five years of irregularity...
My problem this time is prolonged bleeding. There's no pain -- I don't have any cramps, bloating, tenderness, ect -- but today marks the seventh day and it's still fairly steady, if that makes sense. Usually I can time it to the hour of when I'm all done bleeding because it tapers off into nothing, but I'm still bleeding like its the second day.
I know I need to see a doctor (seven day mark is when a girl needs to call), but I'm not sure what it could be. Theres no pain so it can't be endometriosis (spelling?). Any ideas why I'm bleeding so long?
In case it makes a difference, I've been on and off the pill for a year (I can never remember to take it every day and end up giving up and waiting until the next period). BUT I haven't been on the pill (ortho low) for the past five months or so.
