Prolonged Period.

Hello.

So, I'm usually one of those girls that gets really lucky when it comes to her rag; two or three days and I'm all done until next time. For the past couple months (three or four) my period has been a regular cycle (28 days or so) which is unusual considering the last five years of irregularity...

My problem this time is prolonged bleeding. There's no pain -- I don't have any cramps, bloating, tenderness, ect -- but today marks the seventh day and it's still fairly steady, if that makes sense. Usually I can time it to the hour of when I'm all done bleeding because it tapers off into nothing, but I'm still bleeding like its the second day.

I know I need to see a doctor (seven day mark is when a girl needs to call), but I'm not sure what it could be. Theres no pain so it can't be endometriosis (spelling?). Any ideas why I'm bleeding so long?

In case it makes a difference, I've been on and off the pill for a year (I can never remember to take it every day and end up giving up and waiting until the next period). BUT I haven't been on the pill (ortho low) for the past five months or so.

BC and conceiving

please help me settle a debate with my boyfriend. i swear that its possible for birth control of any kind to lower you chances of conceiving. obviously while youre on it its going to lower the chance of becoming pregnant, but what i mean is after taking it for a long time and then stopping so you can conceive. any articles or the like would be greatly appreciated.

sti?

is it common to bleed from sex? i used to rarely but lately, its everytime. this particular time, its been three days. its spotting, not like a period exactly. i am on birth control and not the placebo pills so its not that. i havent been late or missed one ever. its 100% when he cums in me and 50% when he doesnt. iis this a sign of an sti? i was checked a couple months ago for stds but not stis. i know im not pregnant, or at least the pregnancy tests i take twice a week say negative. help?

yeast infection or irritation?

Last night I used my dad's shower gel stuff to clean. It has a more manly smell that i've always liked (turns me on too haah), and i've used it 3 times.

So this morning I woke up and the opening of my vagina/labia is itchy. I've never had a yeast infection, so I don't know if this is what it feels like.  It didn't really hurt to pee, althugh it felt warmer than usual. I have recently shaved, whereas the other two times i used it, i wasn't freshly shaven. Could this add to the problem?

So what do you guys think this is? A yeast infection, or just some irritation?

Any help would be wonderful. Thanks SO much :D

Baths causing UTI and Yeast Infection

I am the current proud owner of both a UTI and a Yeast infection.
My period is due in a few days and that should clear out my yeastie, and I've had UTIs before so I'm buying my usual cranberry supplements today so I'm not too concerened about how to treat them but I'm concerned about getting them back.

The shower in our house broke a few weeks back so we've been taking baths instead. Ever the economist, my mum has insisted that we share baths. Which I think is fine when you're little but not 3 women sharing a tub (me mum and sis)That's kinda gross to me. If I mention it she goes on at me about how we can't afford to use more hot water than we do (although I'm pretty sure the length of the showers my sister and I take amount to more than a bath each). Anyway, I was just curious as to whether or not my theory that sharing bathwater has caused my problems is true. I've never had a UTI and a Yeast Infection together before and this UTI is the worst I think I've had. It's really uncomfortable and I want to avoid it, if I can, in the future.

Thanks.

Tilted Uterus?

Hi. I did look in the memories but a) I didn’t know where to look REALLY, and b) I didn’t find anything where I was looking.

Just for background, I’m 20 (3 weeks from 21, yay me!) and I’ve never been to a gynocologist. I’ve never even had a pap smear. I know I should, because I’ve been on the Pill since I was 16 and been sexually active since I was 17. Please though, I’m working on it. I just feel uncomfortable with a stranger looking straight up there, I’m very self conscious.

Anyway, the point to my question. I’ve been experiencing a weird … jabbing pain whenever my boyfriend and I attempt to have sex. He’s not huge in that respects (maybe, I don’t know, 4 to 5 inches at most?) and we tried a few different positions in case it was just a brusied area. I’ve only have one other partner who was probably a similar size and felt a similar pain but I ignored thinking it was just my body adjusting to having sex.

My current boyfriend though said that maybe I have a tilted uterus, or just a shorter vaginal canal than most women and he was bumping the cervix. He’s not a doctor by any means, but he’d had a girlfriend in the past with a tilted uterus and she had a similar pain from what she explained to me.

So basically, what the hell is a tilted uterus? Is it dangerous? Also, is it possible to have a shorter vaginal canal than … normal, I suppose?

Also, as a sidenote I did find some links to online stores than stock larger bra sizes but they were all American and, I’m maths dumb, I can’t work out exchange rates. So, hopefully I have some big-breated, Aussie sisters out there who could lend a hand (cup size? I’m lame, I know) to a 22DD/E (I have lopsided boobies, lol) sister?

Thank you!

Gladrags, Diva cup...my wonderful experience

Hello ladies. I was reminded of an old entry I made from my personal journal to my female friends. I had been having horrible issues with pads and tampons and someone on here recommended I try alternative products. I ended up with gladrags and later a diva cup. I just wanted to share with you all how these two products have changed my life. I included the links that I had found then..there are probably more but after getting my three gladrags and my diva cup I haven't needed to shop around. I love them both too much!

Antibiotics and preventing yeasties

Ok, so I just finished up a 10-day round of amoxicillin for strep throat, taking it twice a day. I took Azo yeast with every dose (i.e. also twice a day). No yeasties. The bottle says to take once a day to prevent yeast infection.

Should I continue to take the Azo? If so for how long? Twice a day or once a day?

Thanks ladies!

breast pain

I have breast pain for 2 weeks every month. It's gotten to be really annoying, and the pill is supposed to exacerbate the issue. Is there something I can take for it? Medication or herb is fine. Thanks.

Delaying/Shortening Period

I know there's a way to induce your period, like the parsley tea, but I was curious if there's a way to delay or even shorten your period?

Thanks in advance.
