Two things, really...

a) I saw the post below about anti-depressants interfering with Birth Control, but does anyone know about it interfering with the basic menstrual cycle? I'm not exactly clockwork, but I haven't had a period this month so I'm a little concerned about the tiny possibility of me being pregnant (am going to do a test this afternoon... eek.) I've just changed over from CYpramil (Citalopram) to Paroxetine (like, this morning) so I'm just a little concerned..?

b) I was wondering if anyone in this community has adorned their vaginas with any metal..? I've been considering a "Christina" piercing, or maybe a clitoral hood, for some time and just wondered if anyone else had had experiences..? I tihn labial piercings look really nice, but they take a while to heal... Just curious. Thanks, ladies. :)

I went over from cipramil to paroxetine too - but I was on the pill throughout. The past few months my periods are getting a bit longer, despite being on the pill, but since I've been on the paroxetine about a year and a half, I didn't attribute it to that.

Good luck with the paroxetine, it definitely helped me more than cipramil did.

Labia piercings

I have my outer labia pierced. I posted a report of the experience at http://infotrope.net/kink/labia.html if you'd like to read it. I didn't find that they took too long to heal -- a couple of days of it stinging when I urinated, and a couple of weeks of swabbing them twice a day with salt water and not having sex. No biggie.

a) I don't know specifically how it affects cycles, but I know that it does... a friend of mine who wanted to get pregnant was placed by her doctor on some different meds so that she could.

b) I have a horizontal piercing of my hood. If the piercer is good, the bead in the ring will hang so that it rubs the tip of your clit.

I like it very much... I find that I can now pleasure myself by crossing my legs and rocking the top one back and forth. *^.^*

I had a christina for about a year.... it was beautiful. But.. two horrible things happened
a. it's a surface piercing so it will grow out
b. it grows out faster because people are fascinated and think it gives you ?pleasure? if they play with it. it's purely an ornamental piece.

If you're into piercings i'd go for it because i loved mine... but it was painful because they have to go very deep through the skin to make sure it doesn't grow out immediately.

i have my verticle hood and tried horizontal. i couldn't get it to lay just right so verticle works for me. although... i can't cross my legs and get off :( i'm jealous!

I got my clitoral hood pierced about a month and a half ago--completely healed, very nice. If I had known it was so painless, I would have done it a long time ago. one word of caution, though; if your main hope for the piercing is to have orgasms while walking or sitting or just out of the blue (as some people says it causes), don't get your hopes up too high. mine's nice for masturbating, but it doesn't come close to giving me anything remotely resembling an orgasm just on its own.

I have my clitoral hood pierced, and have had it for over a year now. It only took about a month to heal, though I cleaned it beyond thoroughly for two. I have had no problems with it. My sexual partners love it, and so do I. The only painful part is the first week of cleaning, when the blood dries over the ring, and you have to rip the ring from the blood while twisting it from side to side with soap. Ouch! But that ended pretty quickly. Get a good anti-bacterial soap for this. Go to someone who ONLY does piercings, and not tattoo parlors that do piercings as a side job. You won't regret this part. Go to someone you're comfortable with, they're putting a sharp metal object through a sensitive part of your body!

Overall, it was a great idea. However, once in a while men don't seem to understand that it's very sensitive and pull to hard on it while going down on you. You have to explain to them it's sensitive gosh darn it!

Good luck with your birth control. I hope it works out for both of us.

Meep, baby!

Owie! No, no! I found the best way to deal with this (and, come to think of it, this might help the girl who was having trouble cleaning around her clit, the other day) was to soak in a warm tub with a little baking soda in the water.

After about five minutes, the blood loosened up, and I could clean fairly easily, no pain!

Plus, I don't like to have soap directly applied to my box.

Hmmm, didn't even know that. Well, I guess a year later it's not so useful, but for future piercings, possible! Oh my goodness, I just realized it has been two years! I got it when I first turned 18, and was trying to hide it from my mother. So, I tried to get in and out of the bath as quickly as possible.

If you get your nipples done, you can do this with teacups, instead of a bathtub. It looks a little silly, walking around with teacups held to your boobies, but it cleans the crusties right off in about the same amount of time it takes to smoke a cigarette!

That's a hilarious image! I love it!
But I'm way too much of a wuss to get my nipples done. They feel pain if you even lightly tap them..ouch!

what an image !

i found that leaving the job of cleaning my nipples until the end of my shower left everything nice and soft and there was no problem cleaning off the crusties. of course the teacup option never even occurred to me ;)

I have my hood pierced vertically. It was definitely one of my easiest piercings. Aftercare was a breeze (I used sea salt water on a paper towel to soak it).
