I'm so bummed!

Birth controll pills are ineffective on me, because of some other medications I'm on, that mess with my liver and metabolize everything really quickly...so when I heard about the NuvaRing, I was TOTALLY psyched! Anyway, I went to the doctor yesterday to try to get a prescription for one, and my doctor said that although it's been FDA approved, it's not out on the market yet, and he has no idea when it's coming out. I was so sad! I know a few of you ladies already have them...how did you get them!? Any idea on when they're coming out?

As far as I know, it's pretty much EXACTLY like the pill in all respects...only instead of taking a pill, hormones are slowly released through the ring, which you keep up near your cervix.
