scented tampons

i dont remember but is it possible to have an allergic reaction to fragranced tampons? i accidently picked up a box of scented instead of the regular and used a couple and now im slightly swollen and tender. i havent used them for the last couple days and the symptoms seem to be getting better so i figured that was what was causing the swelling but im curious if anyones had similar symptoms. thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the secented tampons irritated your vagina at all. I avoid scented tampons at all costs, and now that i have my mooncup i avoid tampons at all costs :)

If you eat a vegetarian instead of a cow then you're saving a cow.

yeah, scented tampons are really, really bad for your vagina. they can cause infections and irritation like that, because they upset the natural balance of things in your vagina. they are totally unnecessary anyway, please don't use them! scented things in general are bad, including soap, really. if you want to use it, use only mild soap and only on the outside.

tampons themselves really aren't that good for you, but if you're going to use them, don't use scented. Check this page (http://www.lunapads.com/alternatives/index.html) out for alternatives to regular tampons, from unbleached organic cotton tampons (much better for your vagina) to the keeper (i love mine to death.) :)

yay keeper

mine too. the most comfortable thing that's allowed in my vagina for such extended periods of time.

I'd swell up like a balloon if I used "deodorant" or fragranced tampons. But there's really no reason to use them.

Since they are inside your body and not exposed to air (which is when the bacteria start to smell), there is no reason for them, and almost everyone I know is sensitive to them. You should really avoid them, ESPECIALLY if you are sensitive to other scented things, like laundry detergent, scented toilet paper, or Kleenex.

owchhh! scented soaps, pads, laudry detergent, and sometimes even dyer sheets are hard on the ol'mucas membrane. I can't really imagine what scented tampons would do...
