I'm working on a small art project involving different women's feelings about their menstrual cycles. I'd be extremely grateful if you girls would tell me one word that describes your period(I think mine would be "magnificent" or "splendor" though I'm not quite sure yet. :) or what it means to you, whether positive, negative or somewhere in between. Thanks a bunch! :D

i'm working on a photo project documenting the contents of my keeper poured into a white china bowl once a day for seven days. It will be colour, large format and very purist in aesthetic. i want the images to be seductive and psuedo-scientific enough to allow everyone to look at them; even boys. i want everybody to think about menstruation.

I would describe my period as saturated (both in terms of colour and meaning)

I think my word would have to be "indulgent".
I always feel a little different when I'm on my period, especially my heaviest days. I'm a little lazier, and everything I do seems to have a more luxurient feel to it. The feeling of bleeding, especially when I don't have anything I need to do, is very relaxing to me. My body craves different things- more fat and more iron (as I'm very slightly anemic) so I often treat myself to different foods, including fatty yummy things. I dont' have to worry about taking my birth control pill every day (one less thing to fret over). I get dressed and think, "So what if I wear sweats to class, I'm on my period." If I'm a little moody, or I need to cry for no reason, well darn it there's a good reason. The list goes on. My period is definitely my time to indulge and just relax a little.

Because my nether regions feel like they're filled with hot sticky jelly, and my stomach feels bloated, and my crotch (generally) feels like it's stuffed with a pillow. (Now I got my cup, things may change.)

And inconvenient. I hate it. I don't want to have kids, so I shouldn't have to deal with a period. I think an ablation would be a wonderful way to deal with it, when I make the final decision to get sterilized.
