Cyst? Or ingrown hair? Advice required please!

 Hi,
Since Friday I have had a bump appear to the left of my vagina.
It is sore and lumpy and I believe it could be an ingrown hair from shaving.
But I would like your input?
What should I do about it? I've tried hot compresses but it's not solving the pain :(
I really want it to go down ASAP as it's hurting!

Thanks!

Your cut failed. Please fix this ASAP.

Psst, your cut isn't working!

Definitely looks like a pimple or very unhappy ingrown hair to me. You can keep up with the warm compresses or try a salt-water soak. Good luck; that looks awfully painful!

Yep more hot compress is about the only thing you can do :( You might be told to lance it but I don't think it's a good idea as it might get infected. I hope it feels better soon!

Damn that looks painful, I get ingrown hairs literally every time I shave, and not just one but several, and that looks like nothing I've ever had...Do you see a hair in there by any chance? Also I don't know if this works for everyone but when I get sore big things like that I do a switch..I'll put a hot compress on it for a few minutes, then switch with a cold compress, then back to warm, switching back and forth for a little while.

Looks like an ingrown hair to me, from the vague pyramid shape. Keep up with the hot compresses and try ibuprofen for the pain.

Lancing it should only be a last resort and done by a professional, since the pus track isn't always the most obvious and you might not find it. Then you've created a new trail for bacteria to follow and settle in.

I gets cysts in the girly area as a side effect of one of my meds, and they're more of a slightly raised round squishy shape, mostly painless, and what feels like a crater or hole under the skin.

As far as preventing them, I use a gentle loofah on the shaved areas, which helps keep the hairs from becoming ingrown. I haven't had an issue in the 6+ years since I started doing that, versus 2-3 a year before.

Good luck, you have my sympathies!

Infected ingrown hair or maybe just a pimple-type thing. For me, cysts seem to be hard on the edges with a sort of hole in the middle and the skin feels weird. I'd suggest a warm bath and hot compresses. Eventually it will come to a head/pop on it's own accord or just vanish. Shouldn't take too long really!

It looks like a pimple to me, too. OUCH! The ones on my face that I get hurt like hell so I can only imagine what one down there would feel like. You could take some OTC pain killers for the pain, but the only thing I know to do is to just hot compresses, wait for it to disappear and try not to mess with it.

Looks like a pimple to me...I'd put a hot compress on it like the others said. Looks like it hurts :(

I dunno, it looks like a Bartholin's Cyst, or Abscess to me... If that's the case you need to see a doctor and go on antibiotics to get it to settle, it might in its own time but it may just get bigger...
Hope it sorts out okay!

It definitely, looks like an ingrown hair. To me, cysts are usually more roundish.
