STD or infection?

I am worrying myself sick about this, and could use a little reassurance.

I've been dating this guy for a few weeks. Since then, I've been full of sex-related ills. First, I ended up with scrapes on my nipples from his overuse of teeth. Now, I love rough nipple play, so it was great until they got infected. I've been taking dicloxycillin for the horrible nipple infections. The day I started taking this antibiotic, we had sex, and afterwards, my perineum was really sore. The next day, my perineum and anal area was horribly itchy and inflamed, along with my vaginal area. Because of the antibiotics I am on, I assumed this was a yeast infection and started upping my acidophilus intake. However, it isn't really like any yeast infection I've had before, but also doesn't really match any STD I have read about. These are my symptoms:
  • Red bumps around anal area, perineum, and lower vaginal area. These bumps AREN'T blisters, oozing, or cauliflower like. They're not crusting or scabbing, or forming a head. They're just small bumps. The bumps themselves don't hurt, it's just wherever this rash is that hurts.
  • Pain and itching that is relieved by use of tea tree oil or corn starch.
  • Horrible burning when urinating.
  • White flaking/discharge around labia and clitoris.
Any ideas?

That definitely sounds like yeast. Bumping up your probiotic intake may help stave off a yeast infection, but IME it won't get rid of one on its own, esp. with abx still on board (and rough sex that occasionally abrades the skin doesn't help, either).

There are many home remedies that work very well here:

You can also use an OTC treatment if you are desperate for this to be gone (the flaking indicates a pretty bad case of yeast), but do keep up your probiotics in either case.

Also? No cornstarch. Yeast think it's delicious.

I feel like a YI could be a possibility. When I have one, I notice a change in discharge and itching but also the color and texture of my labia and the skin around my clitoris change - my labia get a lot darker, and everything looks "rougher". I've never had any burning when I pee from a YI - could maybe the pee be irritating your already-irritated skin? Or is it more of a burning in your urethra? That to me would suggest a UTI - it's possible you're dealing with more than one thing at a time.

I've had a couple YI's like that. They were awful & I was always afraid that it was something worse than yeast, because of the burning & red spots.

This sounds a LOT like a fungal infection my BF acquired right after we first started having sex. It was really bizarre and scared the living daylights out of both of us, but it turned out to be a fungal infection that was easily cured with some pills and a cream to relieve itching. He had the red bumps, pain and itching, and a very flaky penis. Can't remember if it burned when he peed though.

Yeast is a fungus, fyi.

Well you learn something new every day! I didn't know that, but I'm glad to know it now.

It's odd though b/c when my boy got it I didn't have any symptoms of a YI or anything of the sort. He also tested clear for all STDs so we're sure it wasn't that.

Good luck, OP!

I think it's more than likely a yeast infection. Maybe try applying plain (sugar free) yogurt with live cultures, this should be soothing. You could also insert a clove of garlic overnight or douche with a vinegar-water solution.
