Nuva Ring update and Seasonique question

OK, so I posted this: http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/14360167.html  like 2 weeks ago about not being able to find my nuva ring that my Gyn had put in.  So I wait awhile thinking my period is coming any day now, I'm getting cramps, etc.  Well I was officially 8 days late today so I decided to call because I am NEVER that late, I'm usually between 21-28 days, so 8 days is way late.  So I go in to see her and it was in fact still there and it took her a little while to find it.  I'm not doing that again.

So here's my question, she gave me a trial of Seasonique which she said was like Seasonal.  What are your experiences with it?  I am actually looking forward to only having it a few times a year, its just an annoyance to deal with it every month.  When you do get your period is really heavy?  Do you experience alot of break through bleeding in between?  How long does it usually last?  Also, any noticeable weight gain while on it.  I was on Yasmin for years in college and didn't gain any weight and I'm trying to lose some right now, so is this going to make it more difficult to lose weight?

TIA!!

I spent a cycle on Seasonique. It made me break out really terribly, so I switched to a regular low-dose pill (Low-Ogestrel) and stack 'em, so I still only have 4 periods a year. My periods haven't been any heavier, they've actually gotten lighter and shorter with each cycle. If you're gonna do this, anticipate breakthrough bleeding. I had it for about 2.5 weeks (up until my placebo week) my first cycle through on Seasonique, and I had it for three more cycles after that, but with every cycle it started later and later and was lighter, and my last cycle I had no spotting at all, huzzah! It's minorly annoying, but for me avoiding the horrific PMDD I was experiencing before (and not having to deal with a period every month) makes it totally worth it for me. :)

Obviously this is going to vary from woman to woman, but Seasonique did not work for me at all. I ended up getting breakthrough bleeding once a month as if I were getting my period (and the bleeding would usually last a full week or more, which is longer than my real period lasts!). I stuck it out through 2 packs (6 months) before I got sick of it. I did another three months where I took a break as if I were on monthly packs so I would get a full on period once a month. That was just because I had the supply, and then I switched back to Ortho-Tri.

Seasonique made me moodier also, and I had never experienced emotional periods before that. I didn't have other side effects-my skin stayed the same and so did my weight.
