UTI? Chlamydia? Both?

I went to the doctor 5 days ago for a UTI and got antibiotics.  I've been taking them perfectly as directed, but the burning sensation still has not gone away!  The urge to pee went away a day after starting the antibiotics but today it is now starting to come back, but is definitely not as bad as it originally was.  Does this mean the antibiotics are not working?? I still have a day and a half left to go but I thought the symptoms would have gone away by now.  I've had 3 UTIs in the past and they cleared up quickly, unlike this time.  However, with my previous UTIs I never experienced the burning sensation when I pee.

I was experiencing burning when I pee last month, but without the urge to go all the time, so I also went to the doctor and turned out that I had chlamydia, which I got treated for.  The symptoms cleared up in a couple days.  I've had sex once since but it was protected and with someone I'm almost 100% sure does not have any STDs.

So now I'm wondering could this painful urination be just the result of the UTI or could it be possible that the chlamydia actually didn't go away and I am experiencing symptoms again??
For those who have had UTIs, how long does the burning sensation usually take to go away??

From all the UTI's I've had, the pain goes away in 3 days or less. So I'd definitely recommend you going to the doctor. To ease the pain, I've heard that parsley tea is amazing. (Boil fresh parsley in water and drink a few cups.)

And when you get chlamydia, the person you slept with needs to be treated too. (Men don't usually get symptoms that they have it and it doesn't affect them like it affects women.) So if you slept with the same person you slept with last time, he/she might've re-infected you.

It could also be something else entirely, but I think only a doctor can do the tests to find out what's happening. Good luck chica. I hope it'll go away with some antibiotics.

Parsley tea does help! Parsley soup tastes even better. It makes you pee more too, though, so when you drink it, make sure to follow it with more water.

The antibiotics may not be killing the infection as effectively before, either because they are more resistant or the antibiotics aren't a good match for that particular bacteria. Keep taking them, though, and if you're still experiencing symptoms by the end of your run, go in and ask for a urine culture. Doctors will often just do a dip test, which says whether bacteria are present or not, and then prescribe a more general antibiotic. Culturing takes longer, but for stubborn infections its handy to target the bacteria more accurately.

I'm a bad example, but at one point last summer I was on antibiotics for around a month and a half straight trying to kick a nasty UTI. People usually feel better within the first couple days of taking the antibiotics, but it could take a little bit longer sometimes.

were you re-tested for chlamydia after your treatment?
STI's can cause UTI's.
By this point i would call the doctoirs office and let them know that the UTI is not going away and seems to be getting worse.
if you start to get a fever or pain in you lower back or are unable to pass urine get yourself to the ER right away!
