Pau D'Arco to treat yeast infections?

While I was out today I asked the chemist lady what one can do for thrush now days. She gave me a list of chemically things, and I said I treated what I thought was thrush with garlic. So she gave me the name of some stuff called Pau D'Arco which is supposed to be great.

Has anyone else ever heard of this? used it? Or is it all a great big scam to rip people off?

Pau D'Arco is a respected treatment for candida (yeast) evergrowth amongst herbalists in the USA. Please remember that there are many different treatments for yeast because different ones seem to work better in different places on the body, and also because each person reacts differently.

I had thrush on my tongue and my doctor told me to rinse with salt water 3 times a day. It went away almost immediately.

Oh, I've been known to when ill or something, though I don't know that I could handle it to treat yeast. I don't guess it tastes quite like lemon and ginger tea ;) Was it expensive? like in relation to 'traditional' yeast treatments? Did you try it?
