I know the average cycle is 28 days.


My last period started December 6, 07.
I had sex the 7th, and he took the condom off and finished without my knowledge until after the fact.
I had been on Depo-Provera for nine months before, and had finished one week of the Ortho-Evra patch which started my period for the first time all year.

Now it's the seventh and I haven't had another period.
How long is too long for a cycle to go? Should I worry about pregnancy, even thought it's so unlikely?

I'm really confused.

i think you should be fine. given that it was the 2nd day of your period and you were already on the patch for a week, and had been on depo prior to that. :) take a pregnancy test if you want to ease your mind (since its after your expected period date anyway)

hello =) don't worry my dear, mine will stretch till the 40th day, i used to panic and trust me i panicked a lot, but i always keep track of them and sometimes my menses cycle ranges from 32 days - 38 days.

if you're still worried i suggest you buy a pregnancy kit on the 30th day, to put your mind at ease. good luck aight! =)

Are you currently on hormonal birth control?

If not... I wouldn't worry too much at this point. Cycles can be really wacky when coming off of hormonal birth control (especially Depo Provera). It's not uncommon not to ovulate, and thus not menstruate, for months after stopping HBC, and people using Depo may take even longer to have a "normal" period after stopping.

If you are on the patch -- when is your patch-free week?

Alrighty. In that case, I really wouldn't worry at this point, although I don't know when's the last time you were sexually active or what you are currently using for contraception.

It may be that you might not actually have a normal period for weeks or months later than normal. If you are concerned about pregnancy, there's no harm in periodically taking a test, but don't fret too much if it takes awhile for your cycles to get into any sort of pattern.

28 days isn't really the average cycle length - that's just what birth control regulates your cycle to so that's what most people think. :) It seems to me that people who are not on HBC have longer cycles, more like 30-36 days.

In any case, bouncing between depo and the patch and whatnot is probably causing your body to be a bit confused so you may have a delayed period, or even no period for a while. If you're concerned about pregnancy, I would definitely recommend taking a test just to know. :)
