(no subject)

Christmas week, I took the morning after pill (Due to being tispy and forgetting the condom.)
New years we used a condom, but it broke. So I got the morning after pill once again.
On Tuesday I started bleeding. But its getting worse.
I have a gyno appointment on Monday and I don't know if I'll be done by then.
Do you think I should cancel the appointment? I made it to get a check up and to discuss going on birth control (So that this won't happen again.)
Why exactly am I bleeding? I've taken the morning after pill before, and I bled for 5 days when I took it, but because it got heavier today I'm nervous that its going to last longer than 5 days.
Could taking it those two times screw me up more than one set of pills would have?

I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. Or if its been asked before.

Many practitioners request that a woman not be bleeding for a pap test, since that can make it harder to get a good sample of cervical cells. However, if your primary concern is getting hormonal birth control, there's no reason to cancel the appointment -- you can almost certainly reschedule the pap for another time, and get a prescription for HBC now.

Many people who take emergency contraception bleed because basically, what EC does is deliver a huge dose of hormones to the system. These hormones shock the body into delaying ovulation. However, for many women it also triggers a withdrawal bleed from the hormones being introduced heavily to the system, then disappearing.

Taking two doses of Plan B close together could certainly increase or complicate the effects. However, it may also run its course before Monday. Hope it gets better soon!

I had my period during my first gyno appointment and there was no problem. We called and asked and they said, so long as it was light there wouldn't be a problem.
