Evening Primrose for PMS/Cramp Relief? Advice

I have read here several times about using Evening Primrose for PMS relief but not really sure what dosage, etc.   I purchased a 1000mg bottle today.  Do you take it all month?  Premenstrual?   How much? Mods feel free to delete if this is not appropriate

I am currently taking evening primrose oil. Not really using it to help with PMS specifically, though. Other things.
How I do it is, I'm taking about 2 capsules every day, one in the morning & one at night. For me, each capsule has about 500mg of stuff in it, so I'm getting 1000mg per day, or there abouts.

I have found EPO useful for cramps. What I usually do is take 1 1000mg capsule daily, and starting 2 or 3 days before my period I add a second capsule daily until the heavier-bleeding part of my period is over. So basically, ~3 weeks of 1 capsule, ~1 week of 2 capsules, per cycle. Seems to work pretty well.

I'm taking a combi pill of evening primrose and cod liver oil. It works out as 500mg of evening primrose oil. I follow the directions and take one a day. Didn't seem to have any effect for about 6 weeks but I've had practically painless periods since! Less bloating and cravings as well. I'm utterly impressed.

The bottle I purchased from Le Target says to take 3 1000mg capsules per day. Seems like alot to me. I just started my period today ironically so I took one today and maybe I will up to two tomorrow on the heavy day and see what happens. So far so good. My system could not tolerate fish oil pills they caused a severe upchuck. Thanks for the info.
