Diva Cup... stuck.

I got my diva-cup in the mail today.
So, even though I don't have my period, I wanted to try it out.
So, I put it in. 
And now, I can't get it back out.
It's not that it's ridden up too high. It's that the suction is REALLY strong.
And I'm scared I'm going to hurt myself if I pull too hard.
HELP!

EDIT: OMG, THANK YOU, LADIES!  I hadn't trimmed the stem yet, and it was kind of uncomfortable.

At least I know I won't have to worry about leaks, with suction like THAT!

Slide a (lubricated) finger up there next to it and push on the rim of the Diva. Sometimes, it takes a couple tries, but it should work eventually.

i know that not eveyones anatomy will allow them to do this, but if you can, it should help.

try to stick a finger in beside the cup and push one side of the cup toward the middle. it should help break the suction. =)

this is what i was going to suggest, or if you can bear down enough to get two fingers near or at the bottom of the cup and pinch, that will break the seal.

I just bear down a little and TURN the cup and it comes out easily after that. No spillage either.

i third the "put a finger up there" method. i have a diva cup and i've found that no amount of direct pulling can get it out. i finger pressed into the side of the cup will easily break the seal. to make it easier, use the left hand index finger to push the side of the cup and at the same time tug on the stem with your right hand. good luck!

I still dont get the point of these. If its like a suction cup, when you pull it out, wont lal the blood spill out? It seems like it would be very messy/ I think I'll stick to my tampons, lol

Thirded on the never spilling! And, much like a tampon that hasn't absorbed all the fluid, if there is an occasional drip, that's why you take it out over the toilet.

I've just started using mine, and haven't had a spill yet! And I would have thought I would on my first time, since the "put a finger up there" method doesn't work for me (it just beds around the pubic bone and holds on the suction), so I have to pinch the base completely together to get it to let go. But nope, no spillage.

I pinch mine to get it open too. I don't even want to think where the blood goes when I squeeze it to break the suction, but I havent had any spill issues either.
