BC questions regarding Loestrin 24

Hi, my name is Ashley [I'm 17] and I'm currently on Loestrin 24 [24 days of active pills and 4 non-active].. I've only been on it for about two months now, but Ive been getting really bad cramps and some brown spotting on the second and third weeks of the pill. Do you think this will stop as I continue taking it, or should I consider switching pills? And should I wait till I visit my gyno in August, or should I call her now?

btw, The only reason I even take birth control is because my cramps are so severe.. and what's the point if this isn't helping? [although I am sexually active, I always make him wear a condom]

ps. I also have very mild acne, and as I've started taking this pill, I've noticed..or atleast I think it's making it worse?

Advice please :[

It's typically advised to take any hormonal bc for at least 3 months before switching brands because it can take awhile for your body to adjust to the hormones.

If it's more of an annoyance and not so much a pain thing maybe you can just call your doc and express your concerns. Otherwise, I'd just wait till August to go in.

Sorry you are having a difficult time. Three months is the usualy amount to give yourself to adjust to hbc.

If you do decide to go off of hbc there are amny things that can help regulate hormones and keep those pms symptoms is check.

Yup, I'd say wait another month and if it's still bad when you go to see the doctor maybe she can switch you.

About the acne-- I know that there are some kinds (Ortho tri-cyclen is one of them) that actually make acne better, so if you're willing to put up with switching kinds and possibly another three months of annoyance until you adjust to those, that might help.
