breast pain and bra size

This may sound like an obvious question but I want to confirm.

I pretty confident I'm wearing the wrong bra size, based on the simple facts that I haven't ever been fitted, I'm wearing the same size I did when I was 13 (I'm 20 now) and my breasts have definitely gotten bigger in the past six months (due to a BC switch and some weight gain).

So...this is why my breasts hurt at the end of the day, right? Being all bunched into something too small? And furthermore, what EXACTLY goes down when you get fitted?

Thanks!

where are you on the planet? maybe someone on here is from the same place, and can make a recommendation.

Northern CA, about an hour north of San Francisco.

oh, dude. next time you're in san francisco, call up lingerie stores and find some body-positive stores. i know sf has some...of course, i can't remember any names.

if anyone's in the san fernando valley (north of la) or north of that, there's an awesome lingerie store called "naughty but nice" that has some of the most body-friendly ladies i've ever met. =)

Oh man, SF trips are a huge hassle. I never, ever, ever go. Though I did for a nurse in about LJ's breastfeeding policy. Got to meat the PR reps for SA. Anyway, I digress. SF is so so so hard to navigate, I shudder at the thought. I'd have to really really REALLY want some groovy bras!

Know of any that's closer to us poor saps that are inland? I'm in Riverside and I'm starting to think that Victoria's Secret is my only option.

never! look either in the local phone book or online for "specialty stores", "gift stores", or clothing stores that advertise lingerie. i may be biased, but i think that independent lingerie stores are the way to go, especially if you're looking for a comfortable bra.

i can fit myself into a victoria's secret bra if i want to, but they're not made for my body, so i don't. *shrug*
