VPFUAA (VP's Frequently-Used Acronyms and Abbreviations)

This is an update on the post Jen made with all the handy VP abbreviations. It's the same info with just a few additions and some alphabetizing/formatting. As always, feel free to chime in if you'd like to see anything added/modified.

The asterisk (*) means that an acronym has more than one meaning. If an item is bolded, that means it is used most frequently. Click on the letters below to skip to that section.

O RLY? ROTFLASTC! IITUWIMWUBMAD?

[identity profile] oh--------brad.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I just want to know what it stands for...

[identity profile] smallstar.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Google says:
If I Tell You What It Means Will You (or U) Buy Me A Drink?

[identity profile] ticktockman.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Long before the internet there was a bar in New Haven Connecticut called The Old Heidelburg that had a sign over the bar reading I.I.T.U.W.I.M.W.U.B.M.A.D.

You know how it goes, someone new to the bar would ask what it meant, and a regular would say "If I tell you what it means will you buy me a drink?". I don't know if anyone ever bought anyone a drink because of it.

*daha*

Ahhahahaha I think that is clever!

Yeah New Haven! *lives about 20 minutes from N.H.*

I did notice that "Not Work Safe" abbrev. is listed as NSW (Not Safe Work)

Perhaps I am just being too picky...

Other than that, the list is EXCELLENT! Awesome work...

[identity profile] jennifer0246.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
omg ilu. no, rly. (you = so much better at the formatty goodness than i)

[identity profile] pinkdramon.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Is this on the VaginaPagina.com site? Because if it's not already it should be.

[identity profile] queensugar.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Bowel Movement / Breast Milk (best to keep these separate, really)

I have to say, that got a laugh out of me. :) Thanks!

[identity profile] whitelime.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad this was posted, because I was reading a message board about infidelity earlier today and couldn't for the life of me figure out what DH stood for. Given the topic, all I could think of was dumbfuck husband... heh.

[identity profile] smallstar.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Addendum:
PID = Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
althea: (Default)

[personal profile] althea 2006-02-25 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Shiny! Is it wrong to feel proud that I knew most of them? I win at internetz!

Okay, seriously, this is great to have because there *were* a few that I didn't know. Like BUM. Hee. Bum. It's funny 'cause people used to (and some still do) use anal intercourse as an alternative to PIV, so it was kind of like behavioral birth control, plus, you know, "back" as in back end.... Yeah, I shouldn't post while I'm tired. I'll show myself out.

OMG TY for posting this. /hug.

[identity profile] 123berries.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It's just something very little but I noticed the O on "OP original poster" isn't bold, while the P is. *Shrug*

Very informative though!

Quick Question- wouldn't ED also double for Erectile Dysfunction?

[identity profile] pirogoeth.livejournal.com 2008-06-12 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Call me nitpicky, but it's spelled "miscarriage" not "misscarriage". :) This is a great guide, though!

[identity profile] aylaelphaba.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Good list! What about BDSM? I think I've seen it a few times and I still don't know what it means.
