Patch taken off day early issues.
I'm sorry to make an OMFGWTF post, but I'm really freaked out and stressed and I just did not need this right now.
I am on the patch. My patch change day is friday. Because I am a moron and because my work week ended today (er, yesterday by now), I thought it was friday. It was in fact Thursday, as I just realized and made the connection to my patch. This was the last patch in my cycle. I'm supposed to start my week off. The instructions say "If the patch has become loose or has fallen off for less than one day, try to reapply it or apply a new patch immediately. No back up contraceptive is needed. Your patch change day remains the same." ...Would this apply to my situation where there is not supposed to be a patch applied after tomorrow? I'm fairly certain I would be okay from when I had sex a few days ago,but is it safe for me to have sex now? Will my period be affected? (late, early?)
I'm so friggen nervous. My paycheck was short this week because of an error that can't be fixed until the next check and I do not have the money to buy my next prescription yet. I know that probably doesn't matter but I just get scared that in this case I might NEED an extra patch...and don't have one. but I don't think it SHOULD be needed at this point in my cycle. I'm just not positive.
I apologize if this post was incoherentish. I did my best, I am really not in a good spot right now, this was really the icing on the cake of a wonderful last few days. Any knowledge or experience...or just plain old reassurance that everything is all right and I can just follow the directions sans the patch applying due to the time in my cycle would be appreciated.
Edit - The verdict is in! I have now spoken to both my pharmacist and GYN. Both have told me that it is all right, and in my situation I do not have to use a back up method. I also do not have to change my patch change day, unless I want to. I feel a lot better now that I know what the story is. I want to thank everyone for their speedy replies! You guys are the best.
