I suspect some of the mods/experts here are curling into a ball weeping when they see my icon pop up at this point.

Long story short - I have one very large ovarian cyst and one smaller one on the other side. They're complex and there is some concern that they might not be benign, though the gyn/onc added his opinion of "it's really unlikely" to the pile. I'm having the giant one out in a couple of weeks; the little guy probably depends on what the big one turns out to be. Really, really scared but also really looking forward to finding out what this thing is. I'm feeling a little calmer now that a doc I've never met before is telling me he's pretty sure it's not cancer. (I don't know, doctors who know me I sometimes think downplay things a little because they know I'm a huge hypochondriac.)

Anyway, what I'm here about today is, off and on for a few weeks (or longer, I can't remember exactly) I've been having miserable hot flashes. The one I'm in the middle of now has been going since yesterday. I have my AC blowing directly on me at a lower temperature than I generally use for room maintenance and I'M STILL HOT. Can this be related to ovarian cysts? I googled hot flashes in conjunction with ovarian cysts, ovarian cancer and a host of other things and came up with nothing. I started my period last night so I'm thinking that's probably why this one is refusing to leave/is worse than the others, but they seem unrelated to my cycle otherwise. Also, for the past week my boobs have hurt like crazy, which is NOT something I usually get with PMS. Am I just a hormonal wreck, from the cysts or something else? Should I be worried? (Uh, I will be anyway. But is it justified?) Is there anything I can do to stop being so damn hot? (I'm assuming no, but never hurts to ask.)

I had my thyroid checked a few years ago and it was fine.

So the medication I was given for my UTI did not kill it, and thus I had to go back to the doctor today.  I was given Spectracef (which I may wind up being allergic to... yay) to take 2x a day for 3 days.  Seeing as how I'm on all of these antibiotics I don't want to risk a YI so I'm taking Pro-biotic Acidophlus (CVS brand)-- should that be sufficient?
thanks in advance!

Almost a month ago I took Diflucan for a possible yeast infection. I must have given it to my other half before I realised the symptoms and treated it, as he has recently complained of similar symptoms and discomfort. Two days later all my symptoms came back!  So he got some Diflucan and I used Canesten Duo (internal and external cream, but just used the internal). That evening I noticed I was spotting bright red blood, it doesn't look like menstrual blood and I'm no way near my period due date. I'm still spotting quite a bit and yesterday I got extreme stomach cramps. Does anyone know what this could be or has anyone experienced this with Canesten? Thanks :)

EDIT: is there really nobody that has any suggestions? :(
It's been four days of light bleeding now though it's more like blood stained discharge today, I have a week or so left of BC pills and then my pill free week.. am I really going to have like a two week long period?!

I've been on Diane35 for a few years, my doctor switched me to YAZ (had an allergic reaction), and switched back to Diane35 in March. I'm on continuous method, and have had no problems with it. About two weeks ago I had some light cramping, then brown discharge. This lasted 5 days then went away completely. Two days ago I had a tiny bit of spotting, not enough for even a pantyliner, gone the next day, and a bit back today. I haven't missed any pills, and they've been taken the same time everyday. I'm assuming this is in relation to the fact the sugar pills are skipped and it's not causing me any pain so I'm not too worried. I'm just a bit concerned because the pamphlet says this is common, but usually in the first three months. My primary doctor is out of town, and I have a appointment at a clinic next week. Has anyone had anything similar happen?
