So I'm not longer in a relationship, and thus not currently sexually active. If I become sexually active, it will absolutely involved a condom, and even when I was sexually active on BC I always had sex with a condom because I was paranoid about pregnancy. I've been on hormonal birth control for 2 yrs, my current prescription I get for cheap b/c of my insurance, but ExpandI'm considering going off it... )

Basically, I'm just curious to see how my body would react w/o the hormones, but I'm not sure if sating that curiosity is worth giving up the conveniences of having them... any advice? or personal stories? or links to studies on such? I'll be finishing my last pack in a week and a half, and I've yet to come to any conclusions on my own.

Thanks!

so well while i'm so uber happy that plan b is available otc (specially with the recent post that it is currently otc in california me being a proud californian) i was wondering why the US FDA hasn't approved something as simple as Diflucan for OTC? I mean there are so many OTC yeast infection drugs but they are all topical and can be kinda nasty, why not make Diflucan otc?especially if plan B is safe enough to be OTC, why isn't a yeast infection drug?
just random pondering

Hi there. I made a post last night asking how long my Yasmin (HBC) can be weakened by the antibiotics I'm taking for my UTI. The post was deleted after a very helpful comment directing me to a very specific answer in the Vulvapedia. The answer says that I no longer need backup protection after 7 full days with the pill and without antibiotics. However, I called my doc this morning to get the Rx called in, and I asked the same question. My doc says differently! Without asking where in my cycle I was, he said that I should use backup methods until my period comes.

Can anyone help me to understand the differing answers? Neither my doc nor this community have ever steered me wrong, so I'm not sure whose answer to follow.

I just started using o.b. tampons and had a question for others out there who also use this brand. On the o.b. website, it says that they now have o.b. Silk Ease tampons. At every store that I have looked at, I've never seen any boxes marked "silk ease." Some boxes are white with small dots on them, and others are light blue with a darker blue design. I was wondering if this blue box is the silk ease or not. Thanks.

Are there any health problems associated with a tilted uterus?

The doctor commented on my tilted uterus when I had my first pap smear, and she told me that pregnancy and sex wouldn't be a problem. But for the sake of curiousity, could my tilted uterus have anything to do with why sex hurts or why I'm prone to UTIs? How common is it for women to have a tilted uterus?

I just wanted to gush about how cool parsley tea is. I was expecting my period on Tues. morning and it didn't come. So, ever paranoid, I decided to try to make it come quicker . I boiled me up some parsley tea and was spotting in an hour. It makes me feel really powerful and in tune with my body. And if it wasn't for VP, I would have no idea that such a method existed. Thanks dudettes!

Okay so, I looked through the archives and didn't really find anything out that answered my question. So here goes; any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm pregnant and I got my first YI about a month ago. I know from a lot of things that I read that during pregnancies, your prone to get more YI's than you would normally because of your horomone imbalance, but I'm pretty sure it was caused from antibiotics that I took that were prescribed to me for a kidney infection I was getting. Well, I did what everyone says I need to do when getting my first one by going to visit my gyno about the problem. She examined me and said it was definitely a YI and reccomended I get Monistat 3. She was originally going to do a culture for it (or whatever it is they do to test for YI's) but after she examined me she said she didn't need to.

I bought the cream the same day and started using it that night. I took all three doses the way I was supposed to. And for almost a week, everything was completely normal again. This was last week. However, for the past maybe, two days the itchiness has started back. There's no other symptom of a YI other than itch--- no smell, discharge colour is still normal.

So basically I'm just wondering, could I be getting a YI AGAIN? I know that being pregnant would possibly cause them to be more frequent, but I never had one even then until I took the week's worth of antibiotics. And the only symptom is the itch, which is driving me CRAZY. Also, could it just be a prolonged side effect from the cream, since the cream DID cause more itching when I was using it than the YI itself.

Thanks in advance!

Hi girls. I checked the memories but found nothing to this specific question. I'm on NuvaRing and have the most horrible mood swings I've ever had in my life. I've been taking Vitamin B supplements for the past month and the mood swings have gotten no better. I'm so incredibly tired of getting into "nothing fights" with the guy I'm dating because I can't stop crying over the tiniest thing he says.

For those of you who have tried taking the B supplement, how long did it take to work?

Additionally, any other forms of BC that you girls haven't had as bad of mood swings? I used to be on the patch and don't remember being this moody.
