I have a similiar problem. I've had a yeast infection that took forever to go away, and now that it is, I've still had some itching. My doctor explained it to me as like with a mosquito bite, once you itch and possibly break some skin, it takes that much longer. So she prescribed a steriod cream that helps with healing and itching. If its that bothersome to you, you might want to go back to your doctor and discuss it. It's such a pain!....I understand.
