I had decidual bleeding -- including a strangely "fibrous/matted" looking clot that was probably an inch, maybe two, all 'round, and made me wonder if I'd miscarried before I even knew I was pregnant. The kid is 10 now, so some amount of bleeding is not necessarily dangerous.

The back pain, however, is not something I had, and concerns me because back pain during periods (which also have uterine contractions) and labor is pretty common. (Remember, if this is a miscarriage, it is very probably because of a DNA error that stopped the development of the embryo, and has nothing to do with anything you did or didn't do. So please don't blame yourself if it turns out that's what this is.)

I would call up the Planned Parenthood and ask if they can do a blood test, today and tomorrow, for the amount of hCG in your body. If it is falling, then this is likely a miscarriage. If it's remaining steady, that would be a good sign. If they can't do such a test... They probably can't tell unless you start losing a large amount of blood -- I was sent in for an ultrasound because I'd had a positive pregnancy test, plus (decidual) bleeding, plus "fever" and building nausea.

I would also discontinue anything that jostles your uterus or encourages uterine contractions (e.g., orgasms) till you can get in touch with PP, and you might feel better if you put that on hold till you can get to a regular doctor, even. (When I went in with the decidual bleeding, the doctor said something like, "no sex for 2 weeks." Which I strongly suspect was more of a placebo kind of thing to make sure that, if it turned out this wasn't decidual bleeding, I wouldn't blame myself. And/or a "couldn't hurt, might help" thing.)

Can you call up your insurance-to-be as well, and ask if they cover any stuff "retroactively"? Some insurances will cover stuff that happened just before they took effect, and if yours is like this, you can get to a doctor with it.

Good luck!
