I think it is a symptom of society that so many women want to get rid of it. While i know some girls, especially endometriosis sufferers, have other reasons, so much of the anxiety is external. There is so little mainstream encouragement and acceptence of menstruation. Women who have better attitutes towards it don't get so stressed. Just image if every boyfriend, roomate and parent was like "right on girl: bleed away". And if menstual product ads weren't so damned clean and antiseptic....
