FWIW, I agree with atalanta0jess's advice above. I think sometimes -- sometimes, not always or even usually -- prospective adoptive parents pursue the choice without fully considering the ramifications of adoption, what it can mean, and soforth. As an adoptee myself (my birthfamily found me when I was 18), it's important to me to advocate that prospective adoptive parents consider very deeply some of those questions on the checklist.
