kaberett: (maintainer)
[personal profile] kaberett posting in [community profile] vaginapagina
The links round-up for the week ending 21/02/2014 includes uterus transplants, an endometriosis breakthrough, fat girls and rape culture, a beginner's guide on problematic language, and talking about weight and women.

It's MMMMonday! Each Monday, we bring you special, maintainer-curated content intended to enrich your VP experience. Please note that you can find past MMMMonday posts using the "featured-posts" tag.

Also, a quick reminder about the other places you can find VP: [community profile] contact_vpfor questions and feedback on the way VP is run, and the Vulvapedia for basic questions.

Buzzfeed put up a list of books for parenting daughters last week. These are not general parenting books - instead they focus on understanding and addressing some of the special concerns and issues that often arise for girls. The VP team discussed the list a bit, and mentioned some favorites that were on the list and some that weren't. That got us thinking - what are *your* favorite resources for raising daughters, or understanding the special challenges that often come with being a girl? Actually, not just girls - recommendations are welcome for resources about children of any gender! We're thinking about books (or websites, or LJ or Facebook communities, or what-have-you) that address gender stuff, feminist parenting concerns, and that sort of thing. Please share in the comments!
