Nuva ring, in or out?

I'm on the nuva ring...my boyfriend hates it and says he can feel it during sex....

the doctor said that the ring can stay out 3 hours at a time so I've been taking it out before sex and putting it back in right away after.

Safe, or no?

I mean its not like its a female condom blocking anything, its really more so of the chemicals that it releases inside.

As long as you're not having marathons, that should be safe. Personally though I only feel comfortable having it out 3 hours per month (there's no clear word on if it's 3 hours per month, week, or day that's safe), so I only take it out if I absolutely have to. Luckily our actual intercourse time is pretty short, so between that and being an hour away we never add up to 3 hours per month. But once I did leave it out for 2 and a half hours, which scared the crap out of me. Always make sure to reinsert afterwards! I like to check myself every time I had sex to make sure I had no great escapes :-P
